Nah......Qui-Gon Jinn is the 1st persson ever in all Jedi History to retain his identity after death & this has a HUGE impact on how things turn out for the Saga.

Qui-Gon Jinn was what a Jedi was suppose to be.He was a servant of the Force, not a Goverment or the old Jedi rules. He would listen to "it's Will" & follow it without question to serve it,unlike Yoda & the rest of the Jedi Order in EP1 through ep3...

The Jedi had become too complacent & never adapted to the change of the Galaxy around them. They would have been better served if they followed their old friend Qui-Gon's ways. They would also have been better served if they would've learned from their own "Chosen One" as he was sent there to them to teach them to learn instead of them just thinking he must learn from them. The Jedi Order had just as much to learn from Anakin as he had to learn from them, but that didn't happen & as Yoda said,he failed them,he failed himself.

In fact,in the novel of Revenge of the Sith(as well as pointed out slightly in the movie),Qui-Gon Jinn becomes Yodas Master & Obi-Wans & is with them as they are in hiding.....Helping them to unlearn, what they have learned.

I totally agree with this post. If you read the book of Episode 3, it actually gives you a better insight towards the end about Qui-Gon, if I remember rightly

Well...

Obi wan is admirable, yet dishonest and not as wise as he pretends to be.

Yoda is powerful and the opitome of a Jedi, by the book and to the letter. And those qualities make me question his real character, because a true Jedi is quite cold and emotionless. I still like Yoda because he does have a sense of humour.

I don't like Mace Windu, and never have. I will admit I never read about him in any books, but his character in the movies portrayed a Jedi Master with too much anger and personal motives. He should have never wanted to kill Sidious immediately. He should have arrested him (or attempted to), being a member of the Council, knowing better than letting fear or anger cloud his judgement. Something tells me he is habitually too quick to kill for a Jedi.

Quai Gon was a bit more of a realist, willing to bend the rules when necessity demanded it. He was too much of a pacifist in his manner though and not the best warrior out there (for a Jedi).

Anikan was a putz. It took being burned alive and chopped up by his old master to wake him up to reality, and make him grow up. Unfortunately for the Jedi, he was firmly in the Sidious' hand at that point and couldn't use his newfound wisdom to serve good.

His son luke was also a putz. He did grow up a bit in the end, but was still not much of a Jedi. Personally, the way his character was, I cannot understand why he was able to resist the darkside, he seemed to be an easy target for Vader and Sidious.
I guess I will include Sith and Dark Jedi.

Dooku was a bozo. He was powerful at persuasion and manipulation, but he apparently thought this power extended into his physical abilities, which it did not. He barely held Anikan and Obi-wan at bay and fought them one at a time anyway. Not very impressive for a dark jedi master. His duel with Yoda was pathetic. Yoda could have finished him in short order, but Dooku took the coward's way out. Too slick and oily to even seem like a Jedi.

Maul was more of a brute. A Sith tough who did his Master's bidding. He didn't have much of a character. He was as interesting as a saber-wielding robot when it comes down to it. Deadly, dangerous, scary....but nothing more. I don't like him at all.

Sidious is impossible to like. Even if you like the Empire and the Dark side, he is a politician and manipulator to the bone. He's like a modern politician and dark jedi master rolled into one. Nobody likes a politician.

Vader...hands down the best of them all. Powerful in the force, powerful fighter, powerful in his mere presence. A man who could walk into a room and instill fear amongst friends and foe alike. He truely was Anikan Skywalker no longer. He was the opposite. If anything, he was the truest character in the series. Where others contradicted themselves constantly and left you questioning what everyone's motives were half the time, Vader was like a stone. You know how he would react to every situation. Someone talking smack? Choke em out. An old Jedi master bumps into you? A few quick words and saber time...less talk more attack. Your long lost son come to confront you? Beat his sorry butt like the putz he is and then, being the good Dark Father you are, offer him a place at your side.

If I have to pick a light Jedi, I will pick Yoda because I still remember seeing him when I was a kid in the movie theatre, and I loved him then, but overall, I'm a Vader fan.

I am a episode 4 obi wan fan. Simply because he was the first jedi I had ever seen and he chopped that guys arm off in the mos eisley cantina. "Don't mess with me. I'm not in the mood!" It's about as dark Jedi as I can get. lol.

Windu and Yoda tie for 2nd.

Luke is the worst. Always getting his but kicked and barely winning a fight. never lived up to his potential imo. I also am not a book fan. So the story may be different there!

Films:

Yoda is has to be my favorite. When he cuts loose in Ep 2 I was sold on Enhancer. Not only is is a good Jedi, but he still talks a little smack has a great sense of sarcastic humor. ((It is when a Jedi loses his sense of humor that he/she turns to the dark side ))

Obi-Wan is a close second. Because he is not the best Jedi out there, but he is still capable to get things done.

As much as I hate to say it...Palpatine is up there too. I admire his ability to take over the republic without anyone "really" knowing. I think Yoda was catching on, but it was way too late. And, I cannot deny Palaptine's ability to wield a lightsaber. I know it seemed like Windu beat him down, but I know Palpatine acted that out to give Anakin the chance to finish him off.

Books:

Luke comes alive. He is no longer the whiny little moisture farmer we all got tired off. Now, I cannot think of Luke, soley in terms of the films. The various EU authors have done a great job of developing him. He becomes very powerful and basically has to do it on his own, through research and time in the Force.

Corran Horn is second. His character and his family history are just interesting. Other Jedi look down on him because of his limitations in the Force, but his other abilities more than compensate.

Out of the New Jedi Order books.....Ganner Rhysode.....a rouge jedi, thinking only of him self and how he can gain glory and a name for himself. Ends up on Coruscant just at the right time as Jaycen's escape fromt he Vong. Long story short...he finds out what it truly means to be a Jedi...sacrificing oneself for another...

Favorite Jedi?

- Luke

Takes the best from every Jedi throughout the entire 6 episodes.

1) Defies his master, as Qui-Gonn did in favor of saving his friends, but doesn't lose control of his emotions

2) Became a jedi Knight in record time

3) Stands up to and DEFATS Vader and Sidious TOGETHER by HIMSELF

4) Defeats the chosen one in lightsaber combat

5) Out thinks the greatest manipulator in the galaxy's history and turns Vader against him

6) Founds the new and BETTER jedi order that isn't restricted by the dogmatic old jedi code

7) Is the new hope that sparks the chosen one to bring balance

Most powerful jedi?

Sidious...by far. Not just in combat, but in cunning and intelligence. Only mistake ever made was to trust his apprentice.
