Thread: Why aren't jedi more upset about these changes?

- Our only compensation is some nice trinkets and the ability to glow. After 6-8 months that most of us had to hologrind or FS grind, and then the extra months of jedi grinding.. that seems pretty freakin unfair
This is pretty much the worst thing they could do to us besides removing jedi from the game completely. I think we need to be more vocal.. Where is our correspondant on these changes ??
Lets go point by point, then, shall we?
1) We're already nerfed to the point where regular classes are equal or superior to us. NGE actually may make this BETTER in some respects.
2) Every jedi used to be pretty much the same template, anyway. Pre pub9, the trees were virtually identical. Ever since then, the diversity has resulted in "FOTM"ing, where MOST people are the same. Its also very obviously imbalanced. A unified & uniform system will be easier for them to balance, and therefore may actually produce a better experience for us.
3) Who cares who gets to be a Jedi? Worry about your character, not mine or the next guy's.
4) If you're halfway through the FS grind trying to get a Jedi, and now the NGE comes along and you get your jedi immediately, well, you've just been saved several weeks of grinding? What could possibly be upsetting about that for a FS grinder?! That you don't get your 2nd char slot? Oh well, boo hoo, you didn't make it in time. But, you got saved the extra grinding time. Take the good with the bad.
5) You've already GOTTEN the compensation you're owed for all the grinding you did to unlock your jedi (whether you villaged or hologrinded), cause you have your jedi NOW. We're moving to a new game, with new rules, where everyone is equal, and that old compensation is going away just like the old requirements to get a jedi are going away. IMHO, we're lucky to be getting the stuff we're being given (glowie, saber, robes).
Accepting the new system means stopping, taking a step back, and truely realizing that everything you knew, the game you have been playing, is DONE AND GONE. Its a new game now. In this game, everyone is roughly equal in strength, and things are based on twitch skill. Get in TC if you can, try it out, and see if you like it. If you do, great, keep your subscript and welcome to the new world. If not, unsubscribe and walk away.
Honestly, the cold reality is that nothing you can do, no petitions, no feedback, no nothing will stop this all from happening. The CU petition went to some obscenely high number of signatures, and that didn't do ANYTHING.

Freaking out is pointless and 99% of the vetrans that hung out after the CU are leaving cause they are fed up.
What's the point in complaining? They're going to push this stuff to live regardless of what we say. Play-test it and decide if you want to stick around. If you don't, just cancel. There's nothing else you can do.
And yes, I unlocked my Jedi before publish 9. I have more to be upset about than most, but I really don't care anymore. The way SOE has behaved is reprehensible, but when it comes down to it you still have only two choices:

or
quit.

The Kesmo Mantra: I don't think this is SOE's doing. I think Luca Arts is calling the shots. They didn't think SOE was successful enough. Of course, my uncle didn't tell me this, just my speculation.
Most of what Ive heard from people in the test servers is that it is so much more Star Wars. It works , what more is there?
Ill see if I like it, if I dont ill go somewhere else. Im lucky I have two slots , if its fun im going to delete the alt and play the from scratch with it . Why not its only a game eh?

We are extremely upset. I have been writing a few stuff about it. But honestly, if they go through it, they will recieve the results of their action. This means every preCU2 Jedi will quit which makes up a good portion of the SWG population. They care more about getting new people to play then keeping the players that have been loyal to them from the beginning. They will never get the fact that its more profitable to keep vets than to get new people. And its very obvious that they dont care. All the grinding I did to achieve Jedi to have the uniqueness of it stripped away. Its as simple as my sig.

No they wont , I play games for fun , if its fun Im not leaving. So not all pre cu jedi will leave. Im pre pub 9, if I enjoy it Im staying.
i'm frustrated...i was in the old game that i used to play...call star wars galaxies (played since 28 jul 03) and am (on the real servers) a mbh and a mrifle and in the fs grind, 5.75 boxes filled...my frustration is that in the tc that cloned my toon there from ahazi...i respec'd to jedi...i came up as a cl 80 jedi...but (this is the problem) i have no robe and no saber...i was told by a few toons that i need to go to a quest npc then get a quest then will recieve the robe and saber...then i was told today that the quest npc's only go to cl 30 toons...so, i am a naked, t21 weilding, amuletless jedi...what is going on...did the devs push way to hard in getting the game released before it was ready? i doubt it, they have nvr done that before...if anyone can help me figure out a way to get a robe and a saber, please email me in ahazi.pootie or if your on the tc server, then try and email me at pootie
