If the devs do not specifically indicate what will or will not generate visibility its best to assume it does.
For instance, we are discussing whether or not having a lit saber out in front of a player or npc generates visibility, if you look at this exact word for word quote from a dev statement, it is vague but importantly revealing : "starting combat with a lightsaber and every Jedi action".
Anyone who tells you differently according to their "tests", you should take that information and review what has been stated by the devs who DO know the truth to the matter.
With no visible 'Visibility meter' you can reference to see how much actual visiblity value you have before and after a test, I would conclude any hypothesis as to what is true/false (unless confirmedby a dev statement) should be completely ignored.
Sorry statistic / testers, theres no way around the facts...
I ground all the way from sabers 0/0/4/3 to sabers 2/4/4/4 using the following:
* Saber equipped 24/7, did not equip or unequip within 32m of any players or npcs.
* When an npc spawned on me, I hit a peace/dump macro.
* When agroed at starports I just used "/berserk1" (this does NOT generate visibility and will cause you to autodefend).
* I completed numerous quests killing dozens of npcs as needed using only berserk.
I only got on the terms at 2/4/4/4 after I went krayt hunting with my guild

Try not to blind people when stating your own opinions twosweet. Make your statement/opinion/argument without the SUPER large font thanks
