A duel is a fight between two people to the death/incap or until someone wants out, there is no other 'rules' to follow. Running out of range of AI is a tactic, just like using KD when the opponent is low on action.

Much arrogance i sense in the court jester, maybe lilith should make toons on all the galaxies to back up this arrogance.

Arrogance is the path to the darkside

I guess you missed the part where I said it was my opinion. You know, in my first post in this thread?

yeah, might as well cloak, stasis, FR3, AI, etc..right?

There are certain things that are just courteous to not do in a friendly duel, case closed.

depends on if you set any rules before the duel I guess. If I duel someone I am going all out on them and I would expect them to do the same to me. What's the point in dueling if your gonna fight with pom poms? IMO dueling is practice for real pvp and in real pvp you can't say "hey your not allowed to use that special on me." I believe someone already said it, a master defender who uses AI in one on one's is a crappy pvp'er to begin with. AI should only be used in extreme pve or when you run into a gank squad AND you have back up on the way. If you don't have back up on the way you might as well just take the death anyway.

you can not keep anyone on their back the whole time anymore. Pre CU yes. Post CU no unless you are exploiting. There is a KD timer.

The method for keeping a person on their back goes a little bit like this.

/KD, delay shot, another delay type shot fromcarbs, stopping shot.

Your not KD indeffiently but as long as the other player has action to spend he can keep you pinned in one place almost indeffiently. All depending on how far you move forward while snared. a few of the ways to break the cycle is to sneak a KD of your own during the time you can act or one of the new daze effects to stop his attacks entirely.

in any 1v1 situation in pvp.....if someone uses AI against you and you manage to loose, you should seriously not be dueling.

a max template jedi has 6.5k - 7k force. AI takes 1k force which equals exactly 3.5 - 4mins....TOPS. PERIOD. (unless they use a holocron but that doesnt change anything, just delays the same result)At the end of the 3.5mins the jedi is out of force and dies due to being at -100 health from AI and they cant heal due to lack of force.

and if a jedi can kill you in 3.5mins then you need to work on your tactics and not worry about AI.

if a jedi DOES NOT use AI on you, its gonna take like 10mins or more to wear down their mind, cause you sure wont wear down their force.

so in any duel, pray you are lucky enuff for you opponent to AI...even just 1 time screws them over.

--------------------------------------------------------------bottom line-----------------------------------------------------------------

if you are scared of AI, you are misunderstanding its full impact on the jedi using it. you are just being intimidated by the description of the effect. you are completely ignoring force cost and the reality of the situation. the jedi is snared...stand 20m away for 3.5mins and you automatically win! can you not outrun a snared melee opponent for 4mins?

as an afterthought....heres some hard evidence....1 use of AI is the same force as 7 heals. there is no way you are gonna get a master defenderto heal themself 7 times in 30 secs so its better to get them to AI.
