Thread: Question Since bh have root............

Root/snare is a logical continuation to the pro BH anti jedi changes that have been comeing as fast as the devs can program em.
1 ) We lost FD since it was allowing young jedi to escape death, then they complained about the jedi haveing access to friends that killed the BHs (gank squads)
2)So out comes the change to only allow BHs to gank. so we all took FR to try to escape if ganked.
3) And now jedi can be snared so we cant escape when are ganked, are the BHs happy now? oh hell no! the new complaint is jedi hideing in houses.
4) The solution to this is still being worked out. I expect something like when they take our mission we are teleported out of any structures, since this will warn the jedi to log out I expect we will be teleported to the BH for convience or possibly just die and the BH gets the payoff. Its our own fault for getting on the boards of course.
5) once there are no playing jedi they will be able to hunt smugglers, and wow will the smuggler vrs BH battles be legendary.
Gotta love the haters. Its what Jesus would do. Resist the temptation to fly the bird to the devs for the latest round of anti jedi changes. Just dont play your jedi ever and you will have no reason to complain about the state of the jedi in the game.
The complaint is that the broken tef system allows a jedi to run right inside a private structure while they should be teffed. Heal up, regen force, whatever, and run right back out to attack and run back inside whenever they want...bypassing the tef system as it is intended to work.
I have no problem with a jedi hiding in a house if they don't have a tef. It fits the timeline.

Root and snares are simply overpowered skills in all games. They should either be removed or they should break when the target is attacked. I can't believe the devs are putting those skills in. Even if we just accept that they are meant to kill Jedi each and everytime, these skills will be the new "I Win" button in all of PvP. Sounds boring? Hell yea!
Get ranged friends who can root your enemies and cover you while you are locked down.
Use terrain to your advantage. Duck behind rocks, buildings, etc or make the ranged opponent come to you in a close quarters situation where you can beat him easily.
Getting upset because a long range opponent has a viable tool to use against you in open field combat is silly. Think about what you have, and use it to win instead of asking for professions that have a tool to use against you be torn down to easy targets.
Jedi are not supposed to win ALL the time and in all situations, no one is.

Ok 2 things.
1) Synthsteak most definatly is in seconds, I thought it might have been a conversion bug ( i was on TC chilastra) but it is not.
2) The root really isn't that bad against jedi not yet any way. You just need to learn to play different.
If they root you-
A) Use Valor, less hits will get you.
B) Use a root of your own, and/or use force armor
C) Use a force power attack
D) Use force infusion, or heal and wait it out.
E) Use Saber Throw, which instantly KDs someone, and if they don't have KD recovery they will not get up for a good 5-10 secs.
So as you can see EVERY template will have a counter to this. You may not nessaccarily like it but there are counters.
Just remember with Dizzy/KD you were on the ground and could do nothing but heal, at least with root, you are not stuck on the ground taking more damage, you can strike back.
Oh man, thank you sir for this well thought out and composed post. It lacks the Chicken Little 'sky is falling' mentality that everyone is taking with the CU approaching.
I had more fun playing my non-jedi on Live before CU testing, now I have even more fun. I really hope this update shows everyone how fun a _non_ jedi character can be to play and puts more GCW back in instead of Clone Wars bs.

I havent won a bh encounter yet, the closest I came was when a bounty hunter biked up under cover of factional turrets ( that was my chosen activity for my game time- not to duel a power crazied wombat ), if we cant win and we accept we cannot win or the risk of dying is too high for our liking, should in a MMORG where everyone's playing experience is just as important as the next, should we have no option but to die?
How do you die if you make a break for cover and a hiding place the bounty hunter can not get to you? Without exploiting the broken tef system on Live this is viable and possible.
I don't understand your statement about 'chosen activity', but it sounds like the very idea of Jedi being hunted and there being some danger inherent with playing the professiondoes not appeal to you?
CanI have some of those robes you got there? I think I see my size...

I must say at first I was Chicken Little, but then I saw the new specials they put in and figured the devs put them in for a reason. I just had to calm down and test them myself, and now I actuall enjoy the majority of the CURB. (notice I didn't say I liked it all) The fact of the matteris the game is changing whether we like it or not. We need to take the good with the bad and rethink our strategies. I like that for once I actually used a couple moves in battle, and not spammed the best one I had.
Yes the 1-3 hit killswere not fun,but so far it has been stated, that the conversion servers were for WEAPONS, ARMOR, and OTHER ITEMS,testing. This was notthetest your jediserver, which means that they are probably, most likely, not balanced yet. Thedevs did state that jedi wouldbe one of the last phases to balance. The CURB is an unfished work in the grand scheme of things.
You also dont seem to understand that I am a subscriber too and I pay my money to do what I want not what some other dingbat short of a dimebar has in mind for me. So what if I run and u cant kill me - its still f'ed up my day and no one gives me that back.

That would be all fine and dandy if a Jedi could get that help when he is being attacked by BH's. Since he cannot under the current system, your advice does not apply.
You are absolutely right that nobody is supposed to win all the time and in all situations. But that also applies to a group of ranged BH's going after Jedi. I foresee that it will be entirely possible for a small group of BH's to kill every Jedi they take a mission on - ALL the time! That is the problem. But I see it more as a problem with the BH system than with the CU. The CU just makes a change to the system even more necessary.

This is a very uninformed post. Frankly I doubt you are a jedi, or are very new. Noone can help a jedi in a BH vs jedi fight!!!
