Thread: Defenders will benefit most from cloak after the nerf

I'll preface this by saying I don't have cloak, and never have.

But won't people be able to use FR3 or whatever FR you have, run away then cloak?

Since FR is toggled now, are they not going to allow people to cloak while active?

Since I've never had cloak I really am not sure how most use it. My assumption is, for ME/MP users, you hitstatis -> FR# -> cloak. At least that makes sense to me, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I just seems that this is all very preliminary, and the exact implementation is not yet carved in stone, but rather written in pencil.

It's already been posted that you won't be able to use Force Run with cloak anymore. It's in several threads, just fish for 'em.

Yeah, the way the combat system is now, the first strike means everything. You have to get your opponent into that healing loop.

But with this cloak nerf, I won't be able to do that unless I use my token respec and switch to Defender.

And it's not right for us to be forced to do that. Can't you see that? Guess not.

I guess we have to agree to disagree. Apparently you are into this mind set that MLS/Defender + Cloak and crap healing w/ no enhancer abilities is going to become the new FOTM. In regards to your last statement, what does the upcoming cloak changes have to do w/your abilitiy to toss people into a "healing loop?" You might not be able to get away if you are unsuccessful in getting them into that "loop" but youwill alwayshave first strike.

In duels, maybe first strike is important becuase its "not nice" to run around in a duel, but if you're caught off gaurd all you have to do is drop a root, run back/away and prepare for the fight, its not that difficult. And as I, and many of us have said before, Force Armor 2 + Aura + Novice Defender would be a MUCH more logical addition to Cloak rather than Defender.

So stop w/ the anti-defender anti-cloak nerfage mindset you seem to have gotten into.

Thats not true. It has been said that using an ability will case yu to lose cloak. however if FR is allready active we don't know what will happen. I highly doubt that all mods/buffs will be removed as sson as you hit the cloak button.

Agreed, I stand corrected. But if cloak is dropped when you use Force Run, that still ain't good, lol.

The next snare based nerf will probably be to force run, which makes sense, b/c people are USING it.

Well I cannot edit my post or I would (since you quoted it). It is really just relative the the amount of defenses you have, which is why I came on board with this post( the title which says nothing about Mdef, i just kida lumped them all together with my explanation in the last post). In MY opinion, the more defenses you have, the better you can usecloak for first strike and the less you have to rely on cloak AS your defense. That is what I agree with and why I posted my support.

I am pretty much sick of this post now and I am never reading it again.l

Well if the devs fix it so you cannot use /follow [jediname] thing then any jedi that has cloak will still be able to get away fine they will just take longer to get into a safe enough range to call a bike.
