Thread: tiggs reply Star Wars Galaxies: Starter Kit
Actually
I emailed LA about it... According to what the told me, it is a try out version of SWG. I plays offline, requires no connection or paid account, and doesnt have to update upon initial starup. It has like 3 worlds and 6 cities on each, and has like 40 missions. And once you complete it, it gives you the option to enroll into the real galaxy.
So its basically a way to tempt people to buy, and then trick them into signing up once they are hooked.

Master TK
Gorath
Repairs to water Damaged X-wings ~ 32,000 galactic credits
Robotic Hand to replace the one your dad cut off ~ 72,000 galactic credits
Enough Ship fuel to get you back to Dagobah ~ 2,000 galactic credits
Ben helping you realize Leia is your sister before you pony her ~ priceless
Well done mate.... well done

Yeh, GJ...except the BOX says its ONLINE! It CANT be an offline game if the box SAYS its online...

halo 2 and several other games say ONLINE as well and there is a lot of OFFLINE content in them.
The cover also says it requires a valid credit card to play in that white box in the bottom left corner. Not to play ONLINE, butto PLAY. Why would it require a credit card just to play if you can play it offline?

Do you access to check for purchase orders from vendors? It's coming from Lucas Arts. That or if you have an in with your company's buyers, they might be able to tell you.
OK confirmed.....
SWG:Starter
Release date: 11/23/05
Price $19.99
Taking pre orders now at my eb games store.
No other info available.
If I had to guess, I'd say this is just like other EQ1 packs, where they bundled all the expansions and the core game in one package. I/E Everquest Platinum, which at one point had all the expansions and EQ1 in one single box.
This is most likely the case, so I'm guessing in the box you'll get:
1) SWG: An Empire Divided
2) Jump to Light speed
3) Rage of the Wookies
4) Trials of Obi-Won
All for one low price!!!!

Is there any way to get other information about it being that you are the store manager? I'm not sure if there is some sort of agreement you have not to release information about stuff but assuming there isn't is there any way to find out?
We dont have any other info really................ Some times they send us pop (point of purchase) info with talking points, but the pop is what the companies want the public to know.
Some times at our vendor shows, we get to see early games in development, but again they dont usually show us anything that we'd have to sign an NDA for.
i thought so...
There Is no chancefor this game wii EVER get an award...xxept for the lamest CSR ever
erroneous, eh?
<a href="http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4307177">Wal Mart</a> doesn't seem to think so.
