I can see people will be out at the canyon corsiar POI farming them for crystals and then high level jedi buying them up for thier sabers. Might get out of hand.

But then prices of pearls will drop dramatically because they will be all one type, and readily available.

Those concerned that this idea favors'only double masteries' are missing the point, at least a little bit.

...mainly because the core idea here is generic and you are making SPECIFIC assumtions about the numbers.

For example, one way to avoid alienating dabblers is to have a curve with aneffective cap at or around 6000.

That would allow the majority of dabblers to, upon template completion have the same chances as a double mastery.

A differentexample of how to avoidalienating dabblerswoudl beto tie the 'skill rolls' to the number of skill points in jedi.

That would allow everyone to, upon template completion, have the same chances, not guaranteed tunes, BETTER CHANCES.

A ROLL. Not a guarantee. A roll. Is everyone here familiar with how dice rolls work in classic RPGs?

The basic idea is that it would be a SKILL BASED ROLL, not a pre-determined hidden factor on a loot item.

BUMP for a great idea.

But just like I asked already, doesn't this very thing make Jedi more powerful globally almost instantly? Didn't the devs say they don't want to do that?

I'm not sure how open devs will be to making getting a high damage saber a cake walk. Shouldn't we at least be realistic when we ask for changes........I mean that way we are not ignored when we suggest changes to the devs.

I think this is a really good concept but it cant be quite so simple for prior stated reasons...

Different quality crystals/pearls should still exist and they should still have modifers to the roll of the type of tune you get, But the higher lvl jedi you become you should get a personal role modifier to all tunes. When I say higher lvl jedi I don't mean duel masteries because full temp is full temp i'm mls mdef and dabblers can take me to the bank . So a full temp jedi has better odds of tuning a quality to stats worthy of a pvp saber where a paddy with only afew boxes won't fair as well.(if you havea problem with that quit swg because besides the recent lack of good tunes jedi has been made 5x easier and you should feel like you are earning something as you grind these millions of xp) Now this modifier can tie into frs when it comes back and get to the point that a master tunes a flawless absolutely perfect everytime whether that be +120 -.33 -10 or whatever they choose it to be. But I would prefer to focus on the time being,,,, for instance the current drop rate you can get good pearls and quality crystals... a full temp jedi should be getting consistently better tunes than roughly +50 -.15 -5 this is pretty much the mean of what I get and it is unacceptable in my opinion, a number range like 70-90 -..2-.25 -7 - 8 seems a whole lot more sensible to me.

I know odds are this falls on deaf ears but I think its a good concept and gives alot to work with

MLS MDEF and afraid of a novice marksman

what is the first thing jedi traditionally learn? To meditate very good, and yet... its an advanced swg jedi skill.

That suggests that double master 4004 templates get the best tunes and i am not sure that is good.

No, it suggests that double master 4004 templates have the best chance of getting the best tunes.

I don't think this idea is the best either but honestly I would support anything that didn't involve trying to loot items that don't exist and then 'tuning' them using a system that is completely unkown, completely random, and completely broken.

We simply need something to be done that will give Jedi access to weapons so that we can defend ourselves. Right now we are all just sitting ducks. We've spent over 400 million XP on our templates... etc. etc. etc.

In the mean time we are being force fed another $30 expansion that nobody asked for...

i like it. But remember that Tiggs posted that they want to make premium and flawless (effectively good tunes) rare and that itself would hint that they dont want people to have good sabers which is what this would ensure.
