u missed the point. Its the drive to be the best at everything...
and some people actually enjoy going for the top...they ENJOY = Pleasure = Fun going to be the best.

striving for the top is fine, but taking a video game to seriously is unhealthy.

though imust say that being hunted bybounty huntersdid keep things exiting, and yes it was cake to stay off the terminals, i did, a vast majority of my grind, i am actually excited for these changes. The waythe bh vs jedisystem was or is, untill the changes occur, just caused way to much turmoil, strife, hatred, and contention amongst players. Call me a carebear if you will but because of the problems that were created by that game dynamic everyone had to of known that it would eventually be removed for the good of the game and community.All i can say, it was fun while it lasted and things are probably going to be better. Yes it almost took me 1.5 years to grind jedi and now jedi will bea starting profession it seems, Yes i accepted the fact that unlocking jedi meant i could be hunted, but im actually really excited about the changes. Lest face it pre-cu wasnt the best and it needed tweekage. The cu you well for alot of people was pure crap. Maybe we will finally get what we always dreamed about with the NGE. It may end up being the best thing since sliced bread. Only time will tell. I say patience. Lets see how it plays out before we react.

Geez peeps.
This was GOING to happen regardless. It absolutely has Nothing to do with Jedi Dueling in the streets.
Its ALL about the marketting, and thats the finality of it.
Jedi is the draw. People WANT to play jedi. How simple is That to under stand.
With the exception of the loss of melee proffessions, I predicted Every single aspect of this 9 months ago.
Hella, I thought the original CU was bringing this.
No more forced Pvp with player bounties, no more alfa proffs = less tension and griping in general.
You dont need my Business degree in marketting and Biz management to come to such conclusions.
And as for Every one being a jedi? Sux, i admit. But from the marketting stand point and SOE is ALL about the marketting, it makes PERFECT and eventual sense.
We WILL lose many vetts.
Soe WILL recoup ten times that, in new players drawn by starting jedi.
You couldnt create balance with out weeding out the alfa classes.
Do i think it will be Better? Not really, this IS soe producing this after all. But it finally has the potential to be.
But you would be wise not to write your descisions in stone, and try it out for a month or two when it hits.
My knight on Eclipse will be. And if i dont like it and decide on quitting?THEN you can have my stuff. lol.

I havebeen gone almost a whole year and there is still the same chit going on in the Jedi forums that was going on before I quit.
Well on the bright side of these changes, I can have my son's grind my @$$ out the -2 million debt I'm in.

The changes are coming and that's that. What I can say though is this...the old system had it's flaws. At times it was frustrating and challenging. But, whenever I wanted that instant gratification leave-me-alone game I threw in KOTOR. One of the appeals of SWG, broken as it has been, was that it offeredseveral truely unique experiences compared to the stack of Star Wars games I have. I'm a little dissapointed to see severalfun aspects of the game go away, and I'm numb at the fact that 30+ professions are being crushed down to 9...but I also can see the type ofgame they're trying to provide for newer players. I've played since launch, but he last ten months in particularhave been a great learning experience. I hadalways been a heavy PvE player and only a moderate PvP'er. I sucked at PvP actually. It was something I wanted to get better at, and I wasn't getting better at it with the pick-and-choose combat of normal professions...that's honestly part of the reason I chose to unlock. If anything, as aggrivating as it could be at times...the time I've spent as a Jedi has taught me how to PvP. And for that, I'm thankful and tip my hat to those who enjoyed it and made it a fun experience. The forced system gave me a put-up-or-shut up option that I think in the long run made me a better player, and no other game has ever made my heart pound. When I wanted to PvE or play undisturbed I played my alt. But that, of course was not for everyone.
I'll try this new system out, and simply either continue playing or quit. But as I remember hunting marks without a vehicle, the first three months of the game that brought 50+ players nightly to Bestine for a true GCW experience, or the awe I felt the very first time I saw a Jedi player character out in the middle of nowhere dueling and mowing down 4 of his guildmates....I'm thankful that I got to take part in the initial release and growing stages of this game. I hope the new system offers some fun for us old timers.
