Thread: So I dueled a Master Defender last night...

What im refering to here people is Jedi 1 vs 1. I beat evey Master Defender 1 on 1.
As a Melee Jedi I have more trouble with a Master Powers/ MLS template than I do with Master Defender / MLS
Should duel me for fun one day (I am on Corbantis too) and see if your theory holds true.

You have to get close enough to rifleman to put Sap on.
Yes, MDef with the right foods is still damn hard to hit, but if you stay out of range of an MDef, he isn't gonna damage you, either.
How do you propose to get close enough?

I dunno in my experience MRifles/Doc goes down pretty quick you don't even have to use Valor.
Snare em get close land a AB then saber throw for the knock down and use imp Power Attack for 2 thirds of their HAM.
Samething with TK/Doc(CM)/whatever.
Dueled one last nite ( MPike/TK/Doc and was hitting for 800 with AB on and him standing using Imp Head hit and 1197 with him knocked down and ABed with Imp Power Attack.
I finished the duel with 75% force and only healed twice.
As MLS/MDef xxx3 Enhancer and 2xxx healer it takes atleast 3 other jedi to take me out in mass battles and even then it takes the a while. Long enough for my back to arrive and pull them off me.
I use AI only a regular basis when I'm out numbered by 4 or more and I'm waiting for friends to port in.
In mass pvp ppl tend to be disorganized and even when I get stasised someone spins and breaks it. So AI has its uses in PvP.
BHs are even more fun. even if I can't land AB on em their have little chance of killing me. Especially if I deciede to run. Snare + 102% reuse burst run cake + blow up their ride when they get close and snare again.
I think the key to MLS/MDEF is how you use your specials and in what order.

TKM had its day...for far too long. I don't agree that it's broken at all, although the effectiveness has been (thankfully) reduced. They still get CoB in Tier1 boxes, respectively. A skill that requires no FC, yet gives the same defensive benefit as Aura for Defenders, yet Aura has higher prerequisites AND costs force. From a roleplaying standpoint, I find CoB absurd to be so low level. From a gameplay standpoint, I find it equally absurd because it reduces and cheapens TK into a dabbler's profession (even though I can't stand TK, I know it is used more for dabbling now and that's never a good thing.)
The defensive benefits you get from TKM are still impressive, nonetheless, and in my opinion, the nerf in raw offensive output was needed. Fistsshould NOT beas powerful as gunsand swords (and lightsabers for that matter).Don't feel too bad for them though, as the new SL "buffs" are turning TKs into the one-man army again, so...I'msure the unarmed junkies will be happy once more....unless the new SL stuff gets balanced. /groan

UPDATE:
For those of you who were wondering about the duel.......
Mauvros and I dueled. Myself being the master defender and him not. I beat him twice it was a very good set of duels tho. AI was never used.

Jedi suck or norm's suck has nothing to do with it. I can beat Jedi on my BH and BH/PvP'ers on my Jedi... it has everything to do with who is at the keyboard.

Yes, It was a very good duel and Fugis is a great fighter. As I told him in game he is a rare breed. Master Defenders should be happy to have such a representative.
