Thread: Hybrid template stealth nerf : Now With Macros!
/sigh
Well, no biggie. I just have some weapon swap macros to write when I get home, thanks for the tips on them

We now have to deal with snares that last minutes...
Our heals are high cost
Our melee range is 5m
Our max ranged range is 32m
Our sabers suck due to the pearl nerfs
And now we can't use non Jedi weapons?
I guess the producers want Jedi endlessly massacred until they all quit the game.
Earth to producers: If every person who played a Jedi or who was playing the game with that goal in mind left, you have enough players left for maybe 3 servers.
I've just used the following force powers while holding a carbine
aura
infusion
force heal
avoid incap
But on trying to use dominate mind I saw the message "you cannot use Force powers while using that weapon" in the combat spam.

Just tested my Powers/Pike (ONLY FOR FUN, TOTALLY F**KING UNDERPOWERED NOT EVEN CLOSE TO UNBALANCING TEMPLATE)
While holding my VL... no Lightening, no mind blast, no weaken, no intimidate, no KD, no hit, no area lightening.
Utter utter BS. Go back to the old style 1 jedi prof and make everyone the f**king same, diversity is obviously too hard for the devs to deal with (but then so is a tic tac toe game I would imagine)
I'm out ![]()
Thing I don't understand is, from a development point of view, why was there a big push to make our fully trained main characters the jedi if they don't like the idea of mixing skills as you train to full temp? I was a TKM/Doc when I unlocked and I'm only halfway done my training. From a RP stand point it makes no sense that I have to put some bone knuckles in my backpack just to shoot lightning from the hand that was empty to begin with. ![]()
It's looking like it's offensive powers that have been affected.
Anyone able to test Force run, speed, cloak etc?

Only got powers, but cloak is fine with a pike equipped

It looks like Jedi can use most of their passive powers including Cloak, Heals, Force Speed, and Channel Force. The powers that are now restricted are those from Weilder and Enhancer trees such as Lightning, Choke, Suppression, Wave, Force Drain, etc. Basically all Offensive powers have been restricted.
Not blaming you at all B, but why the f**k isn't this in the patch notes anywhere, and also why was there no warning given to those of us who've wasted 2-3 months grinding skills we can't use now or have to write some elaborate macro system (no doubt prone to failure due to the horrible lag SWG exhibits). We only had a slight heads up on this 2 months ago cos some smart a$$ player hacked the tre's. SOE not bothering to tell us is just utter BS frankly hun. Please let them know that!
Yup, I concur with previous testing as I just went back in game to take another run at it. It seems offensive powers don't work with another weapon equipped, defensive or passive ones are fine. I only have forcelighning(single and area), force hit, infusion, and healing to test with, but force lightning(both) and force hit require that I unequip my rifle, whereas healing and infusion work fine with a weapon equipped.
As someone else stated, this is simply ridiculous given that we are forced to grind out our templates with our primary characters anyway, which virtually guarantees that every jedi will be a hybrid template for at least some period of time.
My macro's seem to be working fine, but there is a huge disadvantage to using them that hadn't occured to me earlier; you can't see the cooldown timer. This meansyou don't actually know when the next move is ready. I tried writing in a tell at the end of the macro to match the cooldown timer, but for some reason I was getting delay after I recieved the tell and when the next move would work. I'm relatively confident with a little more experimenting, this change can be worked around.
However, none of this changes the fact that I'm annoyed that they bothered to put this change in to begin with. There was no reason for this change. There was no call for it. Not to mention that they didn't even announce it, or place it in the notes. Score another one for Dev communication...
