Good news is DDO is coming early next year and I highly doubt it'll follow suit with the dumbing down line of thinking. Granted its not Star Wars, I prefer scifi vs. trolls and such but at this point I'll take any in depth, engaging game.

I think of it more as Everquest in....SPACE!!!!

you've heard a rumor that has spiralled out of control.

if it were true, business ethics dictate that they (soe / LA publicly release this information to increase ther net worth.

and lucAsarts do not approve every aspect. they do hava onboard consultant that oversee's things, but SOE have free reign over the majority of things in swg.

besides, if it were true, lucasarts would either

a) have to recode the entire game from scratch including the basic game engine

b) buy the game from SOE which wouldnt be cheap

add the fact, that lucasarts have no experience coding/designing in the mmorpg sector and have yet to release a good game.....

I would like to play devil's advocate here. Lucasarts would (more than likely) not have to recode the game, including the game engine. On the same token, they would not have to but the game from SOE. Star Wars is Lucas' baby. He clings to it as a baby does to its mother's breast. He would not put himself in a position where he could lose his baby to anyone.

SOE developed the game yes, but there was more than likely a clause in the contract that kept Lucas (either himself directly or Lucasarts) as owner of the game. Kind of like scientists that work for the government, any and all discoveries or inventions made by the scientists are actually owned by the government.

As far as the rest, its all just rumors until it happens...and we will be the last to know.

dont think Jedi will ever be a starting Profession, as someone said earlier and as ALL of you guys on this boardknow, its incredibly difficult being a jedi at least till Half template. And as for Lucasarts booting SoE out, it just cant be possible without it having being announced somewhere, in the business world this would be a huge move and im pretty sure someone would have had to announce it somewhere by now.

I don't really see a point to all the speculations of what may or may not happen to the game inX number of months.

There are so many rumours going around on this and that, quite frankly I find these "theories" it a waste of time and they add nothing positive to the community at all. On the contrary. There's a ton of things I'm unhappy about in the game and I'm upset about bugs, imbalances and yet more bugs as most people are but with constant crying, flaming and trash talk garbage so many people let out here, its no wonder the player base is finding it hard to come through with their opinions.

Talking to no one in particular here but who are you most likely to buy a nice christmas present.

Person A. I would really like a nice new car stereo to enjoy for my long drive to work every day and maybe a pair of sport seats.

Person B. I demand you give me a fking car stereo so I can crank up the volume while I cruise to work, making sure I'm so loud everybody can hear mein my pimp car and fix the fking interior while you're at it. Its a disgrace!

I know who I'm going to tell, in a language they understand which differs greatly from english btw.

Have you played Battlefront 2? I don't know that LucasArts would do a better job these days...

From the Star Wars Galaxies Starter Kit available on Amazon.com

  • For 1 player

  • Sequel to the award-winning role-playing game

  • All-new Force powers, weapons, locations, characters and classes

This would kinda ruin the concept of the current game no? I have to disagree with you, This has nothing to do with the present game

Plus.. all the doomsayers of this game... in whos interest would it be to blind you from such major changes? The Caretakers of this game are not out to ruin your life, sure you won't agree with all changes. But they want your buisness, and breaking your trust would not be a good game plan.

If I remember correctly Microsoft didn't say anything about their backing out and letting Turbine buy them out on Asheron's call until Turbine actually did it and announced it themselves.

If this is going to happen, it's all about LucasArts, SOE won't say jack and will fade off into the night.

Sandsifter is correct. The target audience seems to now be 11-17 year olds leaving us older players in the lurch. Those of us who saw the Episode 4 in theaters (the first time around) will probably not find what we are looking for here anymore. Though I'm not sure how they came up with that... I'm pretty sure I can afford more than most teenagers and yet noone will make a game for someone like me (well past 21... lol). I'd pay more if it actually worked.

LOL I know what you mean LOL,I'd pay $30.00 a month if they went back to Pre-CU
