I wanted to revisit this topic as I am seriously thinking of taking FA. A lot of people say it is bad because they use it wrong. Sure if you just turn on FA against another jedi in PvP you will lose your force bar quickly and die. The amount of force FA2takes is 30% of the damage blocked according to Bootstrap Bill's test. It seems it would be very useful if stacked with the following:

FA2 - 45% reduction (LS too)

Intimidate - 50% reduction

Exoprotein Wafers - 25% for 25 attacks and 5 filling (theoretically 500+ attacks)

Force Run 1 activated to keep the melee guys from swarming and letting Saber Block stop the ranged guys.

So let's say you get hit for 500 dmg in PvP.

500 *.5 (intim) *.75 (wafers) = 187.5 *.55 (FA2) = 103 dmg w/o factoring LS toughness

so the FA reduced dmg by 84.5 dmg * .3 = 25 Force Cost

Does these numbers seem to make sense? Agood tactic in jedi PvPcould be to run force speed/run and drain a jedi with default attack going to replenish your depleted force pool. Let them run out of force using their specials. I will have to test this out to see if the numbers actually jive.

Anyone have any thoughts or experiences using FA2?

I believe food andintimidate (not sure about toughness)is factored prior to the dmg reduction of FA2. So if you intim, eat wafers, and have some extra toughness or dodge food the force hit is not as bad as people think. This is good for running aroundsolo and in grp PvP, where you are running through the battlefield whacking people. Also great for those powerful ranged attacks that squeak through block 15% of the time. If you have ever been chased by a gank squad of ranged guys and CM's you know it can hurt you very quickly.

and a bump!

Which damage reduction gets applied first, synthsteak or FA? If it's synthsteak, then the first hits would be majorly reduced in force cost, but if FA reduces it first, you would get hammered on force, and synthsteak would just further reduce the damage.

I don't know if anyone has tested this before, or if it has ever been posted anywhere else, so I thought I would put up my test results for the benifit of the community. For non-knights the force armor mod in the skill sheet will be +45 for FA2 and +25 for FA1, mine is slightly higher due to my Force Control +4 Modifier for being in the FRS.

Force Armor 2 Results
(+47 Force Armor in Skill Mod Sheet, 47% Damage Reduction)

Damage Reduced: 111
Force Cost: 33
Force Cost Mod: .297

Damage Reduced: 78
Force Cost: 23
Force Cost Mod: .294

Damage Reduced: 55

Force Cost: 16
Force Cost Mod: .290

I suspect the Force Cost Modifier for FA2 is .3 for non knights, and the reason my force cost is slighly less is because of my Force Manipulation +5 modifier from being in the FRS. I would love to see some tests done with non knights though.

Force Armor 1 Results
(+26 Force Armor in Skill Mod Sheet, 26% Damage Reduction)

Damage Reduced: 61
Force Cost: 30
Force Cost Mod: .491

Damage Reduced: 43
Force Cost: 21
Force Cost Mod: .488

Damage Reduced: 31
Force Cost: 15
Force Cost Mod: .483

I suspect the Force Cost Modifier for FA1 is .5 for non knights, and the reason my force cost is slighly less is because of my Force Manipulation +5 modifier from being in the FRS. Again, I would love to see some tests done with non knights.
