The real point here is that before you get your AoE jedi attack you are going to be a tad slow. One you have saber spin its time to head out and start shouting to get in a spin group. If you dont use spin groups then you arent going to be maximizing your exp and if you arent trying to maximize your exp/time ratio then of course it could take as long as the numbers you throw out there. Its not that bad even if you are a casual gamer.

(I realize it is hard to find full groups that last an hour but considering my conservative estimate and the fact that it is not that hard to find spin groups anymore I feel this is a possibility. Another note is that you wont ever get down to CL 1 and in fact you should keep your CL as high as possible to maximize your exp. You should NEVER drop below CL 65.

The Math

8 guys x 2 missions = 16 missions x 5 min per mission in a spin group = 80 min or 1 hour 20 min

(Avg) 20 spawns per lair x 16 lairs (usually more if you get some close together) = 320 kills

320 kills x 800xp per kill (this is conservative as you should be getting more if you keep your CL up) = 256,000 exp

256,000 exp / 16 lairs = 16k exp per lair (very conservative as once you get your CL up I have seen as much as 60K per lair)

36.46 Million / 250K =145.84 (times you need to run through 16 missions) x 80 min per round = 194.5 hours

Conclusion: Even with conservative numbers and if you dont think these are conservative then you are doing something wrong

1. In 1 hour and 20 min you should be able to get AT LEAST 200k if not way more!

2. Full template in 194.5 hours if you play conservative and casually.

Dang you are slow, 75k an hour, i get more than that in a lair, i get about 1 mill an hour, maybe more, in an hour and a half i can max out two combat proffession. ugh

Umm why did you dig up a thread over a year old to post that?
We all know that things have changed and 75K/hr back then was pretty decent exp.
AND to top it all off, the OP was talking JEDI exp, not regular exp.

And this is what they consider "end game" killing creatures for that amout of time...

i would agree there. i really dont mind the time what i really mind is the fact i have to do the same thing over and over and over again during that time span. It would be so much more fun spending the exact same time adventuring and questing doing missions with purpose that immerse you into the star wars universe. I dont feel part of the star wars universe killing pikets and bols non stop for months on end. Let me go interact with famous npc's that send me on unique missions that are fun, interesting, and teach me about the culture and histroy of the star wars universe and if it took two years to complete i think i would still love it.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.
