Here is a better way to think about it:
You need 36 million for a 2.5 Master template.
That's only 36,000 Rancors or other high end mob.
You can get 15 rancors to spawn from one lair if you let it refresh once.
So that's only 2,400 missions!
And if you die, you only gotta kill 200 more rancors to make up for it!
Now, doesn't that make you feel better?
That does make me feel better.. if you would take 36k missions that will equal86,400,000 credits
Yea, I'm coming close to the end of the grind and up yo 52 million and some change as of lastnight

Exactly Aleskander.
With the novice boxes only, working toward LS 0010, I am able to get 40K per 2hr buff session. That needs to be factored into these time equations.

This is the math I came up with including the level I am at ETC.
Facts: I am currently 0031 in the LIGHTSABER tree after converstion.
To MASTER LIGHTSABER, I need 14.6 Million experience points. I currently earn 40K exp per hour.
14.6 Million exp / 40K exp per hour is 365 Hours of playing time
2 Hours playing time per day EVERY DAY without skill loss it will take me:
________________________________________________________________________
6 MONTHS to Master Lightsaber.
At the Maximum I get 802 exp per creature.
In order to get 14.6 Million Jedi exp I must kill
18,204 creatures
Hate to tell you this but if you are actually 0031 in lightsaber and you are only getting 40k per hour you are seriously doing something wrong.
At 0010 in Lightsaber I was able to pull in around 66k an hour and now I am 0030 in Lightsaber though I have not grinded any since getting that I am sure I will be able to get more than 66k an hour.
So you seriously need to step back and ask yourself "What am I doing wrong?" and "What can I do that is better?"
All you have to do is a Search on the Jedi forum and look for better XP posts and you should find alot of them that will give you alot of different ways to get more xp per hour.

All this would be ok, but you forgot to add the worse thing ever we get on our head :
CONTINUAL REVAMP/BALANCE
How can we in our right mind spend this time to something that WILL become obsolete even before we reached it completly ????
Sorry I can't, that s why I m on complet hold with my Jedi (which is strong, but a hybrid melee stacker LOL).

Funny thing is, in SWG Jedi is the impossible grind, but when I was playing Anarchy Online it took me the better part of 7 months to get to level 200 (the cap at that time) and that was for a normal character. In fact all characters took atleast 5 months to cap for power gamers. Also the possible losses were far greater than anything SWG has ever cooked up. Not only could you lose ALL your work for the day but each mission took nearly 2 hours to complete at the higher levels. So in was not uncommon for players to make a 2 hour investment, die from the boss and lose everything for the night.
The grind in AO was boring as well but the RISK made the game exciting and addicting. I'm looking forward to the 4 month Jedi grind and the minimal and frankly TRIVIAL inconveniences of bounty hunters and measly Jedi XP loss from creatures. Finally I can play a character that feel like a normal character in most every other online game
