The thing that has gotten the most attention and I agree with is merging 2 of the least populace servers and making a server for Non-Jedi, at least from the posts I read and Tiggs replied She thought it was a good Idea.

Yes Jedi are getting nerfed because they are entering the game at an alarming rate, and if the numbers keep growing the nerfs will get worse. what will happen is a tricky situation for SOE, if they bring back permadeath they run the risk of losing a customer every time a Jedi is killed i.e bad for business. what can they do to control the onslaught of Jedi.

May be but also I remember many jedi abusing their powers not behaving like jedi knights. Professions doing this normally get the nerfs at the end like BH, pistolers and many other before. I see another nerf for BH again because their requirements have change and anybody can get it easy now.

1. Offer an incentive such as a third character slot to those that permadelete their Jedi. Those that are tired of playing Jedi would take this offer just for the third slot (and remember i said those that are tired of playing a Jedi)

2. Redo the requirements for becoming Jedi, bring back the mystery, hologrinding, make the requirement random per character and only when you finish a requirement may you find a holo leading you to the next, in essence make it hard again. SOE made it easier because they didn't have the amount of Jedi they were expecting now they have to many. Now you can ask anyone or look online for the requirements to become Jedi or detailed instructions on how to finish any village quest. This has to be changed. Jedi is supposed to be hard not come with instructions.

The system now is hard for people like me but not the regular young player with extra time to play and no jobs in real life. May be before SOE fail to analyze the average age of their regular players, the ones whoreally have the money to pay every month. May be after SOE do this they can find a better way for everybody to keep the jedi rare.

3. The group XP bonus have made grinding faster for everyone. They need to remove it, or not have it apply to Jedi to slow things down.

Jedi don't get as much xp as the other players.

4. Jedi Content: constant additional content for Jedi, that would keep them out of the cities and off the radar of the non Jedi community. i.e get rid of the village, come up with a unknown planet where their is a lightside and a darkside temple, only Jedi can land there, planet has 100% Jedi content

I agree with this. I will be happy to stay away from others if i can solo grind or have another planet I can go, but SOE forced everybody to group unless you have some template like Mdoc/Mcarb.

5. Change all village content to make it so none of the current Jedi can provide instruction to the new upcoming Jedi, slowing down the grind even more.

The grind is slow to people like me but I see your point when it comes to the non having a real life player.

I know a player with 3 toons and 3 jedi. She had no job in real life so she can play the all day.

There is a simple solution to re-designing the Jedi system. It's obvious the DEVS meant for Jedit to be a PVP class, so much like the FRS that's coming out for Jedi. PVP should be part of force sensitivity, they should tie it into the GCW because Jedi are tied directly to the GCW. So, players who want to be Force Sensitive will have to PVP, if you don't want to PVP then you won't get a Jedi simple as that. Then you will do away with all the "carebear" Jedi who want to use their sabers to kill Durni nests.

Jedi are military combatants anything less than that is an abomination, and they are introducing BH vs. Smuggler content as well, so we won't be only hunting Jedi in the next few months. In peace time the Jedi don't run around dueling in the Senate chambers to see how hard they hit for, Mace Windu didn't complain about his saber being weak.

Make it so that when unlocking jedi you have to have atleast 50 if not the 75 badge mark to ensure the person has experienced a good part of the game content. I don't care for the forced PVP but i can handle it, what i don't like is the trash talking children.

#2 & 4 from the original post make sense...

Nothing. The jedi are here 'en masse' and they are here to stay. Nothing SOE tried before and after Cu changed anything about jedi population.

Instead of losing time and resources nerfing them for a stupid balance concept between jedi and BH, they should remove this stupid relationship ( or make itoptional at best) and have jedi and BH both experience game content and enjoy the game as theywant to (not all BH like to pvp neither anyway so they don't care about jedi/BH current relationship anyway): Chose PVP or not. Jedi is a long time reward and when the only thing you can do is fight BH or angry people because you are unbalancing to the GCW I think it needs some serious change. This is a game and we want to have fun when we turn our computer on after a long day of work. As a jedi I expect something less stressfull and more enjoyable than waiting for a BH at every corner if I try to experience game content with my jedi. In my opinion it would be the true reward after all the work behind my jedi.

Instead of breaking the game and losing customer they should add content for jedi.

I agree with this 100%. SOE definition of fun is weird.I wonder if they really know what they are doing.

/applaud!

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

the thing is its star wars, and for many people that means jedi, since they r in the game people r going to try to become one, add to it that they r more powerfull them many templates and you just attract more players. you can't block people from becoming one because to many people wana be one so there would be to much complainging to get a change like that through. you can slow it down but thats not really gona fix anything. we r pretty much just gona ahve to let em nerf us to a point where other prof don't complain about fighting us or remove our interaction with regular prof, removing jedi from the gcw seems like the best way to do that to me. but you can' stop it, the number of jedi r always gona raise, i am pretty sure they knew this the minute they decided to add them to this game.

Does anyone remember waht is was like pre-CU? On my server I was one of maybe 20 Dark Jedi that participated in the FRS. I grew tired of seeing "You have once again bested chalon/ken'shao/k'loch/vater/ or one of 30 other Light knights." So what was the answer that SOE deiced on? To first, Populate the jedi ranks to ensure every rank in the new system could be filled at once." Secondly, implement a new FRS to get everyone excited and wanting to participate in it.

Ohh, and my idea to slow down everyone getting jedi is a very easy fix. Extend the Village cycle to say 4/5/6 weeks or as needed to slow the jedi progression. This doesn't make jedi harder just makes it slower.

Many of the original jedi are already long gone i think. I got Jedi in Jan 2004. Only 3 or 4 people even know my Jedi, i hardly ever play it.

My opinion is that the senario in this time frame is way out of wack. During this time frame any jedi that where not directly under the emperors thumb where hunted and killed. light or dark it made no difference If deamed a threat it was eleminated.

The pure number of jedi light and dark are more like thepost Emporer era then between ep 3 and ep 4. Dark jedi in the service of the empire is also kind of out of wack as is light jedi fighting on the rebal sides. The Jedi had their own battles to fight among them selvs and bounty hunters where a threat to them all light and dark.

Just my 2 cents not that it means anything.
