We all know this, above the bugs it is the biggest issue of SWG atm. We had been given the opportunity to get and grind out jedi relatively easy and fast. Perosnally I think it was a bad move on SOE's part. Now there are a jedi horde on every galaxy and the constant nerfes made the proffesion weak(not as strong as we would like it to be or it should be)

What do you all think, how could this be solved?

This game is not only about jedi, do you think freezing the village and invent a new jedi system would be good?

Shouldthere be secret missions and 1 year subscription on an account before a player could start chasingbecoming jedi?

Would like hear your opinion!

We're merely trying to keep up with the population of BH. Who cares if there are too many Jedi. That's like saying, there are too many developers working on expansion packs than developers working on bugs.

No matter what you do or change people will do what ever it takes regardless how hard or long it takes. Just the way of the powergammer.

The idea I am pushing for on a lot of the proffesion forums to solve this issue and the issue of us being constantly nerfed would help with this.

A lot of people go jedi because there is nothing else to do.

My answer was to make more elite proffessions. There would be less jedi if there was something else equally fun and powerful to play.

Recopied as for some reason nobody caught on to this on this proffession forum. Got a lot of positive reception from the proffession that I thought was going to hate it the most.

One of the reasons I feel that Jedi get so much hate is that this MMORPG has only one seriously elite class. Most MMORPGs have several elite classes. This is my suggestion for a system that would allow for more then just jedi to be elite. I think the followingproffesions should receive a revamp and be given a quest based system to achieve mastery of them. The revamp would make these classes on par with the math of 2.5 power level.

This idea would be fun for us, because then people would not have to become jedi when they had done everything else. It would add more content to the game, and balance out the proffession system.

Bounty Hunter: There were plenty of people trying to become Bounty hunters in the Star wars universe. But only the elite, a chosen few ever made it to the status of Boba Fett, IG88, Bossk and so on. I propose a system composed of grinding and quests to get the kind of training nessacary to join the elite of the Bounty hunters guild.

Commando: Commando should be the most elite of ranged proffesions. If all the ranged proffesions are soldiers in some way or another, the Commando should be the equivlent of the modern military's Navy Seals in comparision to normal infantry. Perhaps it could have a connection to the three different factions, with different perks to each one in the same way that Jedi are faction alinged. Why? The training of the Spets Nats(Russian Speacial Forces) Is definetly different then American or British Speacial forces. Neutrals would be Mercernaries, then you would see Rebel and Imperial versions. Grinding would be part of it, but as in real life, you have to do things to be proven ready to join the elite of any army. So quests would be in order.

A new melee class that basically is someone devoting their lives to the melee arts so as to quest to become the perfect martial arts master on par with Bruce Lee, or other legendary fighters. Quests to learn from new masters to acheive levels of skill. Along with grinding.

And perhaps a new class for crafters to take their crafting to the levels of inventing new items as opposed to only working on exsisting technology. This class would have content quests to find components and travel to distant planets to do research. This proffession could be bound to one of the other crafting proffessions that you choose to speacialize in. This proffession would be to acheive a legendary status in the way that people like Thomas Edison, and Albert Einstien did.

As opposed to contantly bickering about one proffession, we should consider just making more elite proffessions available. I think these could seriously enrich the game, and make character advancement a blend of content and grinding as opposed to just repetitive monster killing.

If you think there are to many jedi in the game, delete yours. Don't sell it on ebay and don't pass it off on to your friends.

Jedi we're supposed to fade away naturally when the owner quit.

It was gonna get like this sooner or later.

We have new jedi coming in, but none of the older jedi are leaving.
The owners may have quit but their toons lived on with help from ebay and their friends.

Stop it with these stupid posts. The idea of being able tobecome a jedi is how swg continues to make money and they are never gonna get rid of jedi. Its there cash cow. Accept it, live with it and get over it!!!

Simple. It may not be the most "creative" but it works...

(1) Make everyone (Currently Jedi) "Force Wielders"

(2) Have Dark and Light Force Wielder, allow them to get to the level of full temp (1.5x as Strong), make Master Jedi, no stronger and if stronger maybe 1.75 normal rather than 1.5

(3) Makeit possible to become Jedi/Sith, you would not be hugely more powerful but you would get content, another level of play, and the knowledge that you are among the rarest. Limit it to 120 per server. It would sort of be 3rd-6th Tier,1 being the regular players (1.00x as Strong), 2 being the force wielders (1.5x as Strong), 3 being the jedi (1.6x as Strong), 4 being Jedi Knights (1.7x as Strong), 5 being Jedi Guardian(1.725x as Strong), and 6 being Jedi Master (1.75x as Strong) end game.

There would still be Jedi, they would be very rare, and they would not be game breaking. Everyone could reasonably get force powers though getting the title Force Wielder, and be strong enough to defeat Jedi fairly regularly. The Force Wielders may not get the content, think of them as the village people vs. the Sith Pirates, and they may not get the Dark Jedi v. Light Level of play, but it would give everyone what they need. Plus the ULTRA gamers could have some sort of end game to play for, without destroyign it for the non gamers like me lol~~
