When the CU was being planned then implemented it was said that we would have no dependencies, your could play your character just after logging in without any special needs. Like buffs and armor ... as in pre-cu style. That has changed during the last few months of the cu to the exact same thing as before. What has changed since the cu? from where im sitting not much other than a horrible level system and more bugs.






I'm no jedi (mrm/mARMORSMITH) but what they did with snares is just idiotic. Combined with 'improved' PVE AI (they use snares also) along with decimating jedi to the point where they can be killed, predictably and repeatedly unless they carrry food(s) (AKA buffs) reminds me of the days before the CU. The above poster is correct...buffs required to survive pvp, just like before the CU. And what do we have to show for going full circle?


1. pvp almost as unbalanced as before the CU, currently in favor of BH's


2. Level system that's pretty much sucked since it was implemented, especially for mixed templates like mine (rifleman used to be able to do things solo before the CU, now, can't even handle a single kimo by himself even if he's grouped w/a level 80)


Three. Loot at an all time low, especially for jedi and their pearls I hear, but also for the rest of us (armor loot reduced to a pathetic health only bonus, and hard to find). Armor crafting reduced to an excercise that a monkey could easily perform.


Four. Forced Grouping. If there's one thing I hate about the CU, it's having to find a group. 'Tis BS. I'd pay a fee if I could for off hours lvl 80's to just sit in their houses with an invite macro while they sleep (maybe I could convince some people to do that...)


5. (related to above) PVE AI, specially tailored to remove the effect of a single person just trying to play (not grind) without the help of others. Nice snares, etc along with what I can only call drifting (esp rancors, they slowly start walking toward you now when you should be out of range; the whole mob, noticed that last night) make it extremely difficult to drag a single monster from a group without Joe Rancor and all his friends, relatives and pets aggroing and eventually serving up your testicles as an appetizer for afternoon tea. It's as if the Devs are surgically extracting the fun things from this game, one thing at time.


I just hope someone listens to you all, because it's a pain in the ass to find a new game you like. I don't want to change, but it looks like I'm going to have to.





Now that it's OK to support the removal of classes in your signature, I firmly support the removal of all the benny hill glowstick fanclub from the game; it was a lot more fun before they came.

Good observation!

Rancor Aid is an alibi used by the devs to say "Hey - you can counter it", probably because it was easier to implement a new food before the publish deadline than it was to rework the snare / buff system before the publish deadline.
The real problem is not the Rancor Aid, though, its the deadline.

Thats one of the problem with the new AI. I dont mind a harder challenge (it was too easy to solo before, and mobs like N-K or Ancients should never be soloable), but somebody forgot that if they give critters the same abilities as players, yet leave the former means of making them tough in place (max health and health regen), that they effectively will cause frustration to the playerbase.

What annoys me is when I have the BH on low health/action/mind, he roots me, runs off 60m or so (or runs behind a few houses) and sits down, regens all his mind, and the fight starts all over again.



I really think all snares and roots should be given diminishing returns to stop perma-kiting.

the new change is fine they do NOT need to roll it back because im sorry whats the POINT of a snare if u can jsut burstrun or force run right out of it ....HOWEVER like kd and other states there does need to be an imunity timer which im sure just like with root will come a few hotfixes or a pub later

Might be nice to give jedi 65m range with saber throw, and a 65m range with all force powers from all branches not just powers, like heal ..... andything considered range or at least make the first type 32m and improved 65m for them. The this may be considered fair.

I would have no problem with roots and snares if they did have an immunity timer which is twice the time of the root or snare. Question is, how come the devs didn't think of this before implementing it, any one with common sense could forsee the results.


Allowing people to be chain snared and rooted is so game breaking it's not even funny. You can't even log in without being griefed into oblivion.

Yep, I'm playing my MBH/MPistoleer and MBH/MSL until they fix this. If they don't fix it, I will be cancelling my two Jedi accounts.


Ya' know, I've seen the devs do a lot of dumb things in 2.5 years of playing this game. They continually amaze me with the continually dumb things they keep coming up with.

OK, cloak snares you, too. So you get to live a minute or so more until your force pool goes away.


Cloak is just waiting to die now, too, just like Avoid Incap.

So how are you susposed to speak up in the face of a service that will not listen to it's customer base and then punish the customer who protest?


Is account cancellation really the only way?






And this never happened to you on Kashykk while you were afk right ? (rolls eyes).


I have not lost to a BH yet after pub 24, andI am on tought server....butI had to earn my stripes in PvP environments before pub 24 .



Here is my advice:


Suck it up, all snares last 15 seconds except ED and ED can be easily cancled by rancor aid. Think up another excuse besides snare please..

Your post is factually wrong - Jedi (or anyone, actually) can be chain-snared now by players who even know half of what they are doing.

Newsflash!! Squadleaders only receive benefits from the group buffs. Nothing else, and only one active at a time....



So sad to see this go out the window. Guess it's back to WOW for me.
