Thread: Shameful... (Read this and SUPPORT the devs)

By reading your sig it sounds like you're a new Jedi. That's fine and all, but you have it made. I was a pre-CU Jedi, and I've regrinded my template post-CU just to see what it's like now, and there is no comparason to what it was like. It took a total of about 2 weeks.
We have all the right in the world to be very bitter, especially moreso than these post-CU Jedi who are complaining about Jedi who grinded full templates in a week, and the pre-9 Jedi moreso than *anyone*, since they went through perma death, Jedi TEF, skill loss, experience loss, and 20 person BH ganksquads. This is something old timer pre-CU Jedi can atleast attempt to relate to, I've lost lots of experience from PvE and BH deaths, but with as easily as Jedi have it made now, post-CU Jedi can't even relate to what it's like to lose experience every single time you die, period. The only know what it feels like to be ganked by Bounty Hunters. Imagine losing 200k experience every single time you died, then another 300-400k or so when a BH ganks you. It adds up, a hell of a lot faster than just getting ganked by BH's.
As a post-CU jedi your attitude discusts me.
I agree, pre-cu and pre-pub 9 (i thinki came around that time) Jedi was harder. Yet the rewards were greater. Killing a jedi back then WAS a task. NEEDING 20 group gank squad to kill 1 Jedi.
Now, it's the other way around: 1 Jedi is almost as easy to kill as any other profession. In a game it's about balance:
- HUGE rewards vs HUGE risk
- small rewards vs small risk
Also, as you know, PRE-cu and pre-9 Jedi will have better equipment already. Post-cu Jedi won't. Unless they really have been collecting a lot before pre-cu. And then, I mean a LOT!!!
On top of that, the attitude "i'm better jedi then you because I'm pre-cu/pre-pub 9 and you're not" should go out the window. That behaviour is causing the most mayhem, not just amongst ourselves, but also to the rest of the people trying to enjoy the game.
Besides that. you say you re-grinded post cu in 2 weeks. Well congratz for you. That's HOW you CHOOSE to play it. I myself, and many others, like to be low-profile. I do NOT grind, i PLAY!!!
To conclude, never ever again assume that all people are the same. They all have different playstyles. You're attitude is that of a child that was given some candy after doing lot of work and now found out others are rewarded a part of same candy too but with less work involved.
It will not earn my respect. And neither do the whiners that "GRIND" their jedi (or ANY other profession) and then start complaining on the forum that other professions/skills should be "nerved" because they got killed while the only viable reason was that they don't know how to use their skills/template in their own advantage.
Quite simply there is no excuse for being downright rude to poeple. Post anything positive on these forums and people start calling you a moron. Devs post anything ...they start getting insults.
The problem is a group of people who have genuinely lost their grip on reality. They speak of SWG asan essential life service like your gas or electricity provider or even a 'near essential' service like a car. The fact is this is a game. Nothing more. Abunch of 0s and 1s on a colorful database. No-one is making you play it or indeed pay for it. If it has been nerfed to all heck (in your opinion) then walk away and don't pay another penny.
Allow those who do enjoy the game to do just that. To be able to use these forums to discuss stuff with fellow players is something I have given up on. Sadly they are nothing more than rude and insulting to anyone who plays and enjoys the game and rude and insulting to anyone who runs the game.
Its an 'ever changing experience'. The EULA states that. But i am not stupid enough to continue to purchase a product I don't like...or worse still hang around commenting on a product I don't like. SWG is not an essential life service -we are not owed anything by it. But EVEN if you feel it is and its that frustrating to you that you can't go on....please try and be polite about it or just walk away.
I only posted because the OP has a very good point. I know I will regret the rude replies - but sadly I am getting used to it.
Man I despise those bugs.
One day, I'm out with someone on Yavin, having a picnic on the shore or a beautiful little lake. Hottest little Twi'lek, perfect ass, great smile, playfull and always sneaking up behind people for a surprise tickle... Anyway, we're eating our Bantha and Avacado sandwiches, and she takes a bite, not noticing the bug on her sandwich until there's this loud crunch. Oh god the look of horror on her face! She spewed that bite out, bits of food flying everywhere (some into my face; that bug's blood-like stuff stung! very acidic...
Well that kinda ruined the mood -- before we noticed we had set up a little too close to their lair...
We left the food behind.
That rather ruined the mood. Especially as she kept saying she felt creepy crawlies. But I could see some of it was where bug juice was...
So we go back to the cabin. Figure I'll clean her up before assorted dirtiness. None of this sonic shower stuff; a nice soak in a hot tub, various lotions and oils...
So as we're getting ready for the tub, she finds bug under her shirt. Well, it was under her shirt before she took it off... And another bug in her pants...
After she got rid of them, she wasn't going to let anything else into her pants!
Next day she emigrated to Wonderhome, never saw her again.
So yah, I really despise bugs.

i myself owned my own buisness (though i've sold it long ago) and if someone came at me with a bad attitude i would not return it. ask anyone in any management posistion... you NEVER return anger from "customers" ever!! you try to help them even if they upset you, yell at you, and call you names.... don't think everytime that it is directed at you personally. but it's no use explaining this to someone who obviously has no idea
I've noticed that bending over for the a$$es is a loosing proposition.
(veterinary profession here...) They're more likely to decline more diagnostics, decline more treatment, expect band-aid therapy to cover everything, then complain to the medical board / sue / etc when their pet dies.
Bad client attitude = "Apparently we're not able to satisfy your needs in a satisfactory manner. Here's a list of phone numbers of some other places. Good bye."

Dazzy, you crack me up man.
It's not fair to attack her nor really any of the people we deal with daily. The problem with this game has to ultimately be addressed up at the top of the process. If they don't have proper leadership, direction or what ever then its not there fault.
I read something the other day that suggests SOE still doesn't think they lost significant market share with their 1 character per account decision. It's just further evidence the top people making decisions really shouldn't be. There had to be creative answers they just didn't look long enough or hard enough or were willing to accept they were making a marginal game for a marginal audience and then through haphazard management and design they made it even less than it could be.
It is ultimately very much their fault this game is dieing. The game was designed to be a doorway into many future games and it has simply become a launchpad into yet more expansions like so many other games, except they don't do enough to make sure consistency, quality and enjoyment are design concerns.
EvilAztec wrote:I do not agree with attacking the Devs or Community people personally, however, there is one problem. There is a singular lack of communication between them and the playerbase. This is not just the Jedi forums either, but rather the whole game. Problems with the game go unresolved for long periods of time, player concerns are rarely addressed and almost never in a timely manner. The preferred fixes normally are non-sensical bug fixes (a snare on a first strike ability?) which are really nerfs. They almost never raise a class up until it's been nerfed to uselessness, and then overcompensate.
Much of the current situation arises from this. The Devs, themselves, foment this by rarely saying whether something is working as intended, is actually broken (unless caught by some pretty smart players), and rarely provide any of their views for direction of the game. If, during the whole SL patch day fiasco, 1 Dev had come in and said, "We're looking into it, no it's not intended to be 2-3 shot kills on melee." or even, "This is the way we want it to be and here's why." it would have been a lot less painful and caused less grief.
The silence is not golden in this case, it is strife causing. It appears they want the players of different professions and areas of the game at odds with each other, bickering over everything.
I doubt they really want this, but it is what is being fomented currently
QFE...this is the problem. This is why IT IS the developers fault. No communication at all.

does that justify the communities behavior with the personal attacks?
