Yap that clicky goes to what was discovered and posted over a week before the CU got let out onto the main servers. If SOE was intending to shift the game froma a crafting game to a level game they did a good job. Only problem I see is I only bought my other accounts because I enjoyed the old system.
I was truely impressed with SOE shifting my character and stats and belongings into the new system. That was the most impressive thing about the CU was the data adjusting on a mass level.

I hate the CL system. Not only does it keep you from gaining xp on certain wild things, but it definately took out a lot of purpose in the game. I also liked the old armor resist system. 85% kinetic etc on PC armor and NPC's. This allowed for more thinking and fun. You would have to use certain types of damage weapons and different kinds of creatures rather than this BS with "you only have 3 weapons at your choice when you master a profession if you want to do any damage" kind of thing. People used stun damage and kinetic damage and all that pre-cu and it allowed more versitility and fun. But now you just run around with some uber weapon not paying attention to any kind's of resists the creature has and only the CL. I don't get why they got rid of this old system. It was fairly basic and easier to understand but that is what made the game and made it so much fun. Now the game is just gank squads and repetitiveness. It's becoming old , fast. They really need to rethink this whole "combat balance" because A) it's certainly not balanced... and B) it's certainly not as fun.

The CL system, IMHO, is the root of all problems. Not the fact that levels exist per se, but rather the damage multipliers in PvE and stigma associated with being non-80.
It completely killed off Crafting/Combat combo templates.
It ruined any excitement or purpose for wild exploration and experience. Wild creatures are rarely near enough to your own level to make killing them either exciting, challenging, rewarding.
It bound every character to the mission terminals for leveling.
Scores of problems when mixing level-based combat system with a profession-based skillset. A CL80 Pistoleer/Rifleman who wanted to start being a Fencer would have to kill CL80 mobs with a 25 DPS baton, or otherwise get no XP.
Encounters have become predictable.
Broke most all existing loot tables.
etc.
Exactly. I havea surveyor that is TKM/Ranger0040/Survey4. Before the CU he went far and wide, surveying the galaxy DAILY to list materials for all of Tempest to reference. Now, he's a level 62 max if I want a SINGLE LINE of a novice professions that is not combat. I get destroyed by anything over my CL in seconds.
This is not the game I chose in Aug 2003. CL has ruined it.
