OK ... something everyone seems to be not adressing....

do the math.... x people in group = x spawns at mission...

spawn x give (set) ammountof xp per kill... The only variable is the ammount of Time it takes to movr to next nest.

Regardless of what attack you use... regardless if a M defender can happen to tank all the mobs ... its still the same math.

Yes its faster, cause.... and god forbid, the group is working as a TEAM to kill a set of mobs as fast as possible.

whatis wrong with you ppl... this is the best thing to do.. you get to be a part of a team and work together to all help each other and make great friends in the process.. Im a full temp...have been forever... and I do spin to help my guild matesand anyone that needs help (oh not Jedi lke behaviour as well )

Its what SOE made on purpose... they didn't like solo groups... and now you don't want ppl together either.... guess what there is no other choice!! Either you have solo groups or ppl helping each other..... you tell me which is better?

OH!! and no CL1 noob does not get the 5600xp per kill that uber CL 80 guy gets... you get xp per kill capped on your own CL

Noob CL 1 maxes about 250xp per kill with his cdef .... of coarse ppl that been CL 80 full template since the pub 5 don't even know that either huh.

In my current spin group I easily get 100K an hour of Jedi XP. SOE already tried to stop the whoring but we as a player base rejected their XP changes.

I should point out that our group does NOT camp the DWB or anything like that, we're just running picket missions.... One thing that really helps is the bugged bases that have 40-50 pickets in em.

They're bugged? I thought they just spawn that much to adjust difficulty to a full group of CL 80 players - SOE stated missions adjust to CL of the group member with the highest CL, and then use numbers to adjust for group size.

Apart from that, 100k per hour was a moderate solo xp rate pre-CU, so I dont get why anybody would think xp is coming too fast in spin groups? Sure, some really good spin groups get more xp over time than pre-CU solo-grinders, most get about the same or less.

People need to stop thinking that grinding equals content. Grinding should never be the whole purpose of playing a game, and one of the strengths of SWG is that one can try different professions. Increasing xp requirements for boxes or lowering xp gains just leads to a longer grind, and with the level system this means excluding people from high-end content for a longer time, and people rightfully cried out when SOE tried that. And to be honest, openly telling people "You will need to grind 8 times longer before being able to enjoy all content" is stupid from a marketing point of view.

But to re-iterate: Grinding post-CU in spin groups is about as fast as grinding solo pre-CU, so nothing really changed xp-gain-wise, everything is in order.

I'm done grinding, and my jedi toon is pretty much retired until the SOE chunker goons put some fun content back in the game.

I think the Spin groups are great for two reasons; 1) at least there are other people around to talk to, 2) it is more like the Golden Age of SWG than the new broken pathetic piece of garbage that SOE intended.

Keep in mind: the non-MLS FOTM is LS 0404...that leaves those poor souls without an AOE attack.

Therefore, ALL AOE ATTACKS MUST GO AWAY...I WANT THE JEDI TO BE WEAK AND RARE...(except mine)...

Folks are too lazy to spend the XP on an AOE then drop it later for their chosen template...sad, sad....so they want to bring everyone else down with them. As usual.

Ouch...my head hurts...

Spin group : yeah, continue to make those group and think you make faster xp

Yesterday evening, i made a group with 4 friend to hunt some bones on naboo.
Before i even realized what was happening, i was capping rifle xp. And we took our time....

All "spin groups" i joined were not that effective because jedis always needed to rest a bit to restore force (spinning is a waste of force/action)
All classical groups i joined were made of people without armors because ennemies didn't even had time to reach us before they were dead.

So go ahead, make your spin groups... You don't know what power is....

Get non pack ennemies
Get a non laggy area (there is lot of cities where you can grab high level missions that also are improved job market)
Get a puller that keeps pulling on ennemy after another
Assist the puller
Smell the difference.

I have been in efficient classic hunting, and I have been in efficient spin hunting groups. Hands down, with no doubt, spin groups gave me more xp than classic hunting did. Just an example, and I know this will just send some people into a tantrum, but I completely reground mbrawler, and master tk in 3-4 hours in an efficient spin group. In fact, I was able to do it within the time of my inspiration buff (3.5 hours). Would you like to know what the xp per hour is on that? At some points I could earn 250k xp +in just ONE lair, and it takes about5 minutes, or less.

QFE

Spin groups are the fastest way of gaining XP, period.

And tank downtime is negligible when the rest of the group is transferring Force to them Not to mention those that have Channel and/or Meditate themselves.

In a decent group I've seen less than 30 seconds downtime per lair of CL80-82 mobs.

You're not wrong there. That's a funny thing about being MPowers actually, when I AE lightning a group of mobs I temporarily get aggro because its a lot of damage in one hit, the game doesn't take into account the warmup and cooldown and just assumes I am the big damage dealer. If the rest of the group don't counter-act this damage quick enough I sometimes get the whole lair on me and drop in seconds.

Funny, sortof

This is easy to avoid. Wait until the first wave is abotu half dead, then pop ur attack. Also, if ur MPowers, start with the Area Intimidate, then area KD, then Lightning...your tank will love ya..

I logged on yesteday and in less than 10 seconds I received a message from a MLS friend who wanted me in their group. MPowers may be weak in any normal situation, but they are a spin groups best friend.

hehe, I am a MDef, and I will tell you 2 nights ago, I was only online for about 3 hours, and I there was one guy who capped, in our group, all his wep xp twice. I do not know what he began with, but I know we we all decided it was time to log/do something else, he was going for his third trip that night.

I would put the xp generated in one of my groups where I am tanking with 2 very good friends who keep their attacks to a minimum, heal me, and feed me force between lairs IF NEEDED, which is rare, against your casual grouping XP you describe any day.

What I will not do is say you method is bad or in any way wrong. And I certainly will not judge the "fun factor" of you group vs a spin group. I am just saying teh XP output is absolutely hands down in favor of a Defender led Spin group with 1 or 2 key support people.

Whatever, the only way to make spin group efficient is to have good players.

I'm just pointing a fact : a lot of players heard that spin groups where the fastest way to make xp... Maybe, i still don't trust that....
But the only point to make fast xp is to group with people that KNOW how to make fast xp, whatever kill technique is used

And another point : xp is not an end. Only fun is.
Spin group != fun
