lot of good advice here for the op and others in the same boat.

It seems pretty unanimous that your base should be this:


Master Powers
3402 Enhancer
4xxx Healer


From there you have to decide: do you want defenses? or a lightsaber?


0404 LS
0440 defender

Regarding Ninjas:
sho kosugi movies rule. And using 0404 LS is way more ninja like than having some defender.

Regarding Force Management & Escape:
You have cloak. You have channel. Channel while cloaked to regen all the force you need. Meditate is nice to have, but not necessary. especially if you have cloak.
*caution* With the Ranger Revamp there might be some nerfs coming to cloak and what you can do whilst cloaked. Meaning, you might break cloak if you try to channel... currently, this is not a problem.

Regarding FR2:
My opinion is that 3xxx enhancer is better than 4xxx enhancer every time. the only reason to get FR2 is if you're going for master enhancer. That box is practically worthless otherwise.

Regarding LS crafting:
If you get 0404 LS and can find someone to loan you a +25 exp saber crafting suit you'll have your 10 points for experimentation. Try your trade forums to see if someone will rent it to you for uber collateral. On my server a guy rents his for 1 million credits (few ADKs or major bank for collateral while you have his suit).

the improved armor skill gives you the equivilent to about 4000 resist armor across the board, i believe... plus your padawan 2000 resist armor basicly gives you a total of 6000 resist armor in theory (if you have NO defender at all)... now alot of people claim improved armor eats your force way too fast... this is quite untrue in my experience.... in fact the only time i see my force substantially being eaten away at is when im tanking like 10+ mobs at a time.... when i'm simply tanking a BH, its BARELY noticable at best... some people say each hit takes your force away by 1% - THIS IS A LIE, I've tested it thoroughly.... fact is, I have no problem tanking a BH's hits, even with DoTs... The DoT's are clearly countered by improved infusion (which i have on a macro) and with 1500 heals I rarely drop below 1/2 health

lol nothing against ya but if you think xx4x defender will keep you alive with all these ai changes higherend content will kill you or at least keep you healing.

when you say solo some content what kind you got in mind?
