Thread: Complete Dabbler Template Totally Ridiculous or Viable?
Seems to me this guy is scared by the boxes of 800k and 1600k. Grind man, grind!
Opith
I can chanel and get a full force bar and health back in about half the time it takes to meditate my bar back.

Hey guys,
So I've been having such a tough time picking a final template. I was just thinking today - could a total dabbler template be viable - I'm sure it would probably be fun to play - but could it really work. I'm mostly interested in being a decent PvE Jedi and not as concerned with PvP. So here goes my idea:
LS: 2 4 2 2
Defender: 0 0 4 4
Healer: 2 0 0 0 0
Enhancer: 2 0 0 4
Powers: 0 4 0 2
So this leaves you with 4825 Force Power and 42 as a Regen rate. Obviously a limitation is force power and the regen rate - and this template will probably not be so good in PvP.
Anyone tried a template like this? Could it work for PvE? Thanks for any tips/advice.

if u wanna dabble ,i would recomment to get more tier 4 skills especially in healing.
u will still get bh after u , so u will be in some pvping now and then. and improved infusion is a great skill.
Perhaps you would consider taking lightsaber 0401 (or 0441 if you think you can't do without an area attack) and go Healer 4000, Enhancer 4x04 (Force Armor could help you keep damage down, although it does cost Force) or Powers x402 (using lightning can be quite enjoyable) instead, which would make you more in-tune with the Force while boosting your healing potential (improved infusion, 1500 heals) and allow you to get out of harm's way thanks to improved forcerun. Not to mention that improved force speed also increases your combat speed, thus raising the damage output over time. Perhaps even consider taking Lightsabers 04x4 instead of Defender xxx4, as the innate saber block from the lightsabers techniques line doesn't cost you any force while Valor will cost you alot of Force and practically do the same thing, but only for a short time. Of course there is the added melee and ranged defense of Defender xxx4 to consider, but with Aura on, it doesn't make that much of a difference anyways.
I hope this helps.

hmm, you have to know more about those skills first.
I know a dabbler template can be as good as double mastery templates.
But, yours is far from being effective. I guess you need to spendmore timeplanning.

Guys,
Thanks for all the advice - especially the constructive comments. I guess I deserved some of the flames for asking a silly question. So I've actually been a Jedi for a few months now, but I was having fun RPing and doing other things with my non-force powers so it's more recent that I've started training in the force. I realized this template suggestion was probably ridiculous, however I was curious to see if anyone had tried something like this. It's not that I'm scared of the grind (I've masterd half the regular professions and I'm working on my 7th FS tree right now) I was just curious about the viability of this type of template in PvE. I like to RP as a Jedi and I was looking for a variety of force type skills vs. having the most powerful template.
So the actual template I've been working towards is MLS, Powers - 4 - -, Enhance 4 - - 4, Defender - - 4 -, Healer 4 - - -; when I got to thinking, I wonder if anyone's gone for only 4-5 tier 4 skills and dabbled the rest (yes I know it's not as powerful and uber - but it might be fun to try at least from an RP standpoint which is what I mostly do)?
So the logic behing this question was that it's important to have a tier 4 saber or powers attack, some defender, and healing to survive. If you take 4 Tier 4 skills from at least 2 different diciplines, you get the 12,038,000 Jedi xp required to be CL 80. So I was thinking 1 Tier 4 LS skill for offense, 2 Tier 4 defender skills, 1 tier 4 enhancer skill, and cloak for quick escapes would give some of the basics to survive and then you could dabble in some of the other skills. Like I said originally I mostly like to do PvE so I was wondering if this might hold up for PvE type combat. I had considered the dabbler template with 9 full tier 4 skills as well as the template I've been working towards but was curious about maximizing the variety of force powers and moves with this non-tier 4 idea.
So given some of the comments here and some re-thinking I did for my RPing style- a small adjustment to this idea might be:
