Thread: If SWG was sci fi but not Star Wars, would you be playing right now?

Just a poll, let's say this was a game with an alpha class (like Jedi) very similar, still sci fi ish, the cities and game play and crafting the same. Except every Star Wars reference and character replaced with non Star Wars.
I know I wouldn't have stayed this long, and the sad thing is even what little Star Wars feel is left is barely keeping me here since I have nothing to do in game.

I suspect the SW is part of what atracts me to the game, tough i think the people i have meet are the biger reason.

cos my jedi is 1 mil times less powerfull than Windu in neither starwars moviesnor starwars animation on cartoon network. more importantly i know it will never happen to any jedi cos the stupid game company doesn't not do the job how the fans world wide want it to be. don't tell me it can't bedone in mmorpg.

Ok this is a somwhat "Apples and Oranges" question but I'll try and answer.
Yes, I would still play because as far as I know no other MMORPG gives you the freedom that SWG does. In every other game if you don't like the way your template is going its time to create a new char and you cant take advantage of your old char's standing with factions or credits (without a tiresome workaround with guildies if you have a guild). Despite it's flaws this freedom to do what I like when I want to and to go where I want to within the world is what keeps me here and enjoying the game, the fact that it's Star Wars style (important word "style" this ISNT actually Starwars) and I get to wave a glowstick around is just a bonus.
If SWG wasnt star wars, i'd play another sci-fi MMO. There are a few options available.
I was in Necron beta and had fun until my PC puked. Now I see there is a Neocron 2 in the works.
