Hologrinding ruined the economy: Say what? People flooding the vendors with crap didn't hurt the economy...the elite always had the steady customer base. Hologrinders spent millions on resources and weapons and armor...not to mention stims, buffs, etc. I am not convinced that they damaged anything.

Hologrinding was done afk: Ok, in some aspects this is correct, but they player still had to understand the basics of the profession to grind it well.

The only true downsides to Hologrinding were that people would grind and not participate in player events. There is no difference between hologrinding and the Village...except in the Village, all you learn is the single template that you started with.

Forget pve Jedi.

As long as Light Jedi earns xp for doing Light Jedi stuff, not through killing stuff, I am fine.

ok I think this whole system should go back to like in epesode 1 when Obi-one found Aniken. If they would implement a system where based on your lvl of jedi you could choose any FS player, and when I say choose I mean players that have done sertain things like (profession, quest, poi, etc) to get them self to FS then you could choose to recongnize that the force flows through them and take them as your apprentice and there we wold have the Master/ apprentice relation. It would also seperate the jedi from the GSW and just have a Light or Dark jedi faction. Take the village away and make intensive quest to progress in the force. Get rid of the FS professions and put more of a training like Yoda had with Luke on Degoba.

You may ask, well who's gonna get the first jedi in the server so that this can continue on? In this case again have an NPC Obi-one choose any of us players just like the Old man when you get FS, based on again different combo's of things that you in the game open that for that one Luky or hardworking player. Then that one player will have personal time with NPC Obi-one showing him the different quest that wold last more then 6 to 9 months BUT onece your done, you become a jedi like in the movies and this will end the over growing population of jedi also all this grief IMOP.

before you flame away just pause and think that if the Devs would just go by what the movies have shown us and implimant it, the game would be way more intresting to play and fun.

now flame away.

- I support keeping & balancing the old combat system You can too

hologrinding was the bigggest mistake for jedi, and even today we can still feel the ripples from the splash that was caused by the hologrind.

The way jedi/the whole gameis today is because of hologrinding.

With all due love and respect, please explain in more detail what you mean by this?

jedi was supposed to be rare, the path was supposed to be hidden.

With the discovery of the path to jedi, it was clear that jedi would not be rare, sooner or later the game would be as it is today, flowing with jedi.

what might have take a year or more to discover have been discovered in less time and was being spread around.

Everyone knew the path to jedi was at the very most = 32 mastered proffessions.

sooner or later jedi would become more and more noticeable, the game changed to reflect this and has been changing because of it.

the first hour I logged on I had enough information to start hologrinding my path to becoming a jedi.

Yeah, I don't like known paths either. I thought it should be random and included a time factor.

Lightsabers should do a heck of a lot more damage than they do, and jedi armor? What the heck is that? Jedi don't use armor, they have evasive skills like dodge and block that should supplant any "armor". This should also be the same for TKM's. TKM should be the only profession that should almost be as strong as Jedi in melee. Almost. Armour is for the rest of the professions.

Jedi haven't been able to wear armor and perform combat moves with a lightsaber/weild force powers for quite a long time. Unless you mean back in the days when you saw them wearing composite. Man was that a while ago.

Very good post, Jacella. I'm a December 26,2005 unlocker, but I'd been trying to hologrind since November 2003. Got these as my holo professions: Dancer, Armorsmith, Tailor, Smuggler. Then they upped the number of holo profs you needed to unlock. I got to about 15 and I stopped. Then grinded on the new system for 4 months and finally unlocked. I just completed my template this past week.

I agree that Jedi is extremely easy to get now compared to the way it used to be. And that sabers should be more powerful. I think it's a lame excuse for them to say "Oh the animals had too high CLs so we'll just take the drops out of the game". That's a real half a$$ed attitude on their part. But I think there will be some exclusive jedi content coming up in this expansion that is worth staying around for.

Having you open your FSCS by the mastery of a number of proffessions btw 5 -32 was a bad idea to begin with. christmas holocrons was an even better idea :smileyvery-happy.

The path to jedi should have never been made public.
