I cannot agree more with Darkknight109's version of the CU statement. SOE has taken advantage of us for far too long. They no longer care about what was created over 2 years ago. It is apparent that they DEV's do not read these posts cause if they did they would do something about it. Notice how they no longer claim that they have over 500,000 accounts anymore. Thats cause they ruined the game for everone. SOE GET RID OF THE KIDDIE SHEET, AND GET BACK TO BASIC'S.

Ha! SWG never had over 500k accounts. They peaked at just over 300k around 6 months after launch. I kind of find it funny, yet sad at the same time that SOE has released new info that proudly claims that SWG has sold over 1 million copies. Yeah, great success... unless you factor in the fact that this game has only around 250k subscribers and it's been that way for a long time. So 750 000 people have tried the game... and hated it. That's something to be proud of right there.

Star Wars™ Galaxies is a living, breathingnow a gasping, choking, barely-alive entity and as such over time it will continue to evolvedecay to remain compelling bugged, broken and unbalanced beyond belief. By upgrading destroying the combat system and the crafting, healing and entertainer systems while we were at it; we have taken the game to a new level low and added a shot of adrenaline morphine (don't believe us?Look at the new interface and particle effects!)to the game to make the experience more fun and Star Wars-centric more like a poor imitation of our competitors with our own unique brand of incompetance blended in. We have enhanced forced people to group play by adjusting nerfing profession roles that create inter-dependency between players and allow them to choose templates that more closely resonate with their play styles the current FotM. We also are allowing role "stacking" -- which gives players the option to blend different types of professions to create "profession combos". Since you can have more than one profession, making character profession roles is even more diverse and interesting exactly the same as it was Pre-CU, only now with a poorly designed level modifier. In the end, this means that combat is much more exciting, tactical and a whole lot more fun slow, dull, repetitive, visually unappealing and unrealisticand wholly uninteresting in any way, shape or form.

all time classic man, everything that needs to be said about the intentional destruction of a game, kinda like when you see a commercial about a laundry detergent that is improved and worked so much better than the old version, is this to make us believe the original product sucked?, if so then why the hell didnt they create the game CU style instead of changing it half way through on us?

The thing I think is sad IMO is that they had to bring they guy who helped design WOW to do the CU and now the more changes that are being made, the more the game is going in the direction of WOW, and will continue to go down hill until 1) The devs and csrs would actually play the game they help design 2)The lag issue is taken care of as who wants to pvp when you know you will die everytime u even attempt it due to heals lagging, etc. 3)The unbalanced issues that have been created due to catering to the jedi and bh's and simply ignoring all other professions (For the most part). Maybe then, when these things have been taken care of that we will see a much better game.

Ok, WOW rocks combat wise and class and profession wise. If we pulled more WoW code we would be better off but our programmers are probly locked in a cage forced into making more expansions by an unreasonable deadline....

The levels system is a bit weak and unrealistic. Apart from that, the CU has been successful. Now I see just as many postoleers and carbineers as I do riflemen. Do we really want to return to pre CU where only riflemen, swordsmen, 1h LS jedi, mind fire pikemen were the only viable combat professions?

There have been a lot of major changes to the game that I dislike, but PVP in particular, compared to pre CU, is a whole lot better. As far as jedi being nerfed.....good. There's too many people who only chose it because they wanted to "pwn" and we need to be rid of them.

Maybe you're server was that way, but I saw quite the variety on ours. In fact i think there was more diversity in FOTM's then than now.Personally, I think there were more FOTM's then that there are now. CH, lol used to be feared. Pistoleer, say by bye to your weapon if you faced one of them. Rifleman, hope you had a good helm, cuz those headshots hurt. Fencer/TKM... eek.Mswords/Mbrawler/Mtk, NS, atst, krayt hunter extroidinaire. Jedi. I saw moredoubebladedones over one handed any day.One hadn and two hadned ones were rare.People always looked at me funny for being one handed or two handed.CM has always been oddly overpowered. Doc's were money making prof's not really combat oriented, but could be thanks to the lack of CL's and a single elite combat prof. makingmcombat/mdoc or mcombat/mcm all FOTM's to some extent.

They just nerfed or broke one after another every couple of publishes, until only a few viable ones were left and people started migrating builds to the ones that were left. In the background a CU was in the works, and a regime change in the development staff occured, The original plan was thrown out for this version. And this version has the same problems, fewer FOTM, and many many more broken things and broken professions.
