Or why not give to TK and Def trees a new skill, something like "concentration" - you could have an improved version in the master box, maybe lasts 30 secs or so for initial force cost and grants 30% basic/60% advanced protection from armour break?

The similar skill for TK could have a larger HAM cost to activate.

Seems like a fair solution to me....

as may have been stated, I'm in agreement that innate armor should be affected by armor break.

If we can't slice it or have CA to reduce it's affects like physical armor can(slice not ca's) then we shouldn't be affected by it.

Force shield might be another matter , but those who have enhancer skills would argue that it should be exempt as well although I wouldn't agree(I have jedi with FA and another with just innate so I have experiance with both).

Any jedi that want's extra innate armor can get it so my feeling is only innate armor(jedi /tkm) should not be affected.

Didn't the devs hint that they were going to release new jedi robes. Why not make AB resistance a robe feature. Could imaginemaybe different things on different robes, so 1 robe having 75% and other robes have other bonuses.

An interesting point. Why? Well, if you read the discription of Armor Break, it says it allows your weapon to expose a flaw in your opponents armor, temporarily causing them to take more damage. Now, the problem? Jedi do not WEAR armor, so there is no flaw to be exposed. That is the argument for why it shouldnt work on jedi.

However, for some reason I always analyze any argument I make from the other side, and already have a counterargument: Jedi innate armor is really a Jedi using the force to protect themselves from attacks the way armor would protect a non force user. It could be reasoned that, though there is no "flaw" in the force, the armor break attack could, when used on Jedi, distract them temporarily so that they cannot use the force to protect themselves as well as normaly.

To add to your own counterargument, based on your first point then arguably TKM's shouldn't be affected by armor break either. From a balance standpoint, Jedi (and TKM as well) have enough defenses as it is. It's a bonus (and an advantage over jedi and TKM) for armor wearersthat they can get armor break slices. You can't take that away.

First off Jedi has defenses if they choose to take them at the expense of skill points. Funny how non-Jedi do not have to make this choice.

lol, the answer is so simple. Why not give Jedi Armor certs in the major Master Boxes? Let the AS make them, problem solved. If Jedi want the AB resists, they can pay for them like the rest of non-Jedi.

Saying our innate armor that requires nearly half our skill points to aquire that cannot be upgraded to be better than our enemies (8k with Health bonuses) and not even slicedis unfair in a combat system where Jedi is supposedly balanced.

Tell me, what was the original reason for taking Jedi's armor away in Patch9? I'll tell you, LS damage. With that removed, funny how Jedi still don't have the ability to wear basic armor. It's just another obvious flaw in the design of Jedi in the CURB. Jedi needs to be revamped so it works in this system, right now it doesn't.

Alright, then those same rules would apply to a TKM.

I personally think that jedi should get about a 25% AB reduction at padawan, 35% at novice defender, and 75% at master defender.

Jedi vs Jedi combat lasts long enough if you're evenly matched, without armorbreak it would just be ridiculously and last until 1. someone runs out of force or 2. indefinatly if both people channel wisely
only way for this to be viable is to up saber damage overall, and the problem with that is other templates without AB protection like tkm would be totally destroyed.

So in other words, you want Master Defender to be even more of a requirement than it is now?

Or, simple as this: as said, it shouldn't affect innate TOUGHNESS, TKA or Jedi. Armor is more effective than the Jedi and TKA Innate Toughness these days anyway.

Replace the useless Enh xx4x tree with Force Concentration type thing to give % armour break reduction.

Or fix the line that is already there!

Jedi Innate armor should be resistant to AB anyway. As such Master Def should have the highest resistance. I dont think aura and force armor should have an extra resistance to AB though

Simple, when they introduced Armor Break Reduction slices, they should have put Armor Break Reduction skill mods in both TKM and Defender, and then given Force Armor from Enhancer a percentage of reduction as well, and even more for Improved Force Armor. If it were up to me Innate armor of any kind would not be armor breakable, but because of balance this is highly unlikely to be considered. So you have to compensate.... yet again the devs have failed to cover all angles of such a change.

The fact remains you cant have AB resistance in ANY tree because it will be required for jedi vs jedi pvp, simple as that. Not to mention jedi with AB resistance are gonna have to fight forever, jedi vs jedi fight already last long enough, it'd be very drawn out with ab resist. I say ditch AB slicing entirely and give them health slicing or some crap honeslty, right now the 75% ab slicing is very unbalancing in general.

or at least give us a AB REDUCTION box in defender Tree !

If that was to happen then the AB reduction should be in every Master Box or even better in the Padawan box.

Defender has enough with wanting to push people towards it even more with putting the only AB reduction skill in Mdef.
