Abbink,
I commend you for at least trying to propose a viable middle ground solution. /salute

Here's my idea

Link visibility to PVP. The more your PVP and duel . . . the more your visibility goes up. Quite a bit of the "content" in this game and through the expansions involves killing droids and npc's along with creatures. So even a careful jedi is going to get visibility by killing these NPCs and droids if he or she wants to experience the new content in this game. It's not logical to say the only way to stay clear of visibility would be to avoid the content you paid $30 for.

I still think visibility can be generated by showing off in public and it should stay that way. But if visibility is changed from NPCs and put on those who really PVP then everyone will win in a sense. Those who PVP can continue to do so and enjoy it. Those who wish for PVE can continue to do so and enjoy it. Everyone can continue being discreet in teh major cities unless they are trying to generate visibility intentionally.

Look guys, this is the perfect example of wat is REALLY ruining our proffession.... Jedi fighting jedi (and not for fun pvp and stuff, but because we have different feiws)

The OP stated he/she has nothing against risk vs reward, but as he/she also sated, there is practically NO reward left but a few skills that nothing but jedi have (most jedi skills have a normal counterpart)

The OP is trying to come up with a way to stop the whining (OP never said that he/she didnt like the PVP) of those who wish not to PVP.

This is a great idea here, and it in NO WAY effects you AT ALL! so why critisize?

Please do not implement any of the following....

  • Removal of XP loss due to BH death

  • Removal of vis from npc's

  • Incorporate any type of "safe" PvE mode

That is all

well put. Thing is peeps what we really need to do is un-ignite our flame throwers and hang them up for a while, quit the name calling and put our heads together to form a solution to the problem that we can all agree upon or mustly agree upon any way. There have been a 1000+ posts on this subject, and that is no exagerated number at all if you have been keeping up with it. Its obviously a big enough concern that something will probably be done about it, assuming ofcourse the devs even read the discussions in these forums. So really we have two options. Let the devs decide how to solve the issue, which they will probably just do anyway, or we can focus the same energy that we have while we have been bad mouthing each other and work together to formulate an idea that we can all agree upon. That way we all can have a decision in what will bring us all the most enjoyment for our buck, wether we are a bh, a jedi, a pre-cu'er, pre-publish 9'er, pro-pvp'er, anti-pve'er, and rpg'er, pro-pve'er, anti-pvp'er, pro cu'er, well think you get the picture. We really just need to quit fighting and work together so the devs dont come up with something that none of us will like. Perhaps if we work together to brain storm and come up with some good ideas, Tanks and Bac could present them to the devs if they feel so inclined.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.
