Thread: A different idea for those who want PVE Jedi only Discuss this one

I notice you all attacking this girl/guy and I am wondering why. I didn't read her crying for a nerf and this change doesn't affect any of you. If you want a BH you will still get a BH. The people who don't PvP and want them will not get the visits.
Are you afraid more of them will visit you or something?
I don't mean to flame, I just want to understand the argument...

Because each cry and each request of being in the game without risk is nothing more then a cry for a nerf... if you do not know that then you have not been a jedi that long.
You forget these cries to change our ENTIRE class is nothing more then that. IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE HUNTED then hide... if you risk that then its your fault.
Sure there is tough breaks but still... right now you have a choice.. but people want to bend that one.
You ask what happend to the Jedi class??? Well some of this has to do with it...
Well most of that I understand but I also feel the pain of the Post-CU Jedi who doesn't have a saber like mine. I never thought mine was very good until I heard what some others use. These Post-CU Jedi have no chance aginast Pre-CU so there's not much incentive to even try in PvP.
A couple days ago 2 Post-CU Jedi attacked me on my Rifleman Doctor. Theyboth died. There is no way in hell that should have happened and yes they were new to PvP, but it still should not happen. Sabers cannot do damage like they need to.
How about jedi missions ? for pve players, and while on these missions, you do not genarate vis to the npc's but you could have an npc bh show up,but if other players see you, you would get vis, so no show boating, and you get content, I been lucky only 2 bh deaths one when I was a noob paddy and a npc spawned beside me, and the other was from a scumbag same faction, bh that kinda blended in, don't know what star wars movie he watched never seen rebels kill rebels..
I would like to see the timeline changed to after ep 6, take jedi out of the gcw, and into covert jedi missions, kinda like the movies.
I believe the biggest problem with jedi is the Dev's have no clue what to do with an alpha class other than nerf it down to a regular profession, maybe someday, we can write all our thoughts and suggestions in forums, don't think the dev's read them enough or care what we have to say most of the time. they got until 2007 to get it togehter then I am off to Star Trek mmorg..
I am huge star wars fan, and old enought to have seen ep 4 in the theater, and this game gets further and further away from the sw I know and love so well.. Make it Star Wars expanded galaxies...or something, does George Lucas know how bad the Star Wars name is getting butchered here, or does he care as long as it brings in a profit.. who knows

Quite a bit of the "content" in this game and through the expansions involves killing droids and npc's along with creatures. So even a careful jedi is going to get visibility by killing these NPCs and droids if he or she wants to experience the new content in this game. It's not logical to say the only way to stay clear of visibility would be to avoid the content you paid $30 for.I still think visibility can be generated by showing off in public and it should stay that way. But if visibility is changed from NPCs and put on those who really PVP then everyone will win in a sense. Those who PVP can continue to do so and enjoy it. Those who wish for PVE can continue to do so and enjoy it. Everyone can continue being discreet in teh major cities unless they are trying to generate visibility intentionally.H
it's a start. i still like the sf = on terms on leave = pve. just like every one else.
Thanks.

You need to take your medicine now.

BUT JEDI WAS NOT MADE LIKE THIS MY GOD DONT YOU UNDERSTAND THIS?????
DID YOU NOT KNOW WHAT THE CRAP JEDI WAS BEFORE YOU WENT JEDI?????
DID YOU NOT KNOW THIS WAS THE RISK OF BEING A JEDI AND THE CHOICE YOU MADE IN THIS GAME WHEN YOU WANTED AND WORKED FOR JEDI???
See this is the part that is insane... What the crap were you guys thinking then when you were throwing nades in the air....???? You had to know this is what Jedi is... Im sorry but you guys are the reason or a very large part of why we are in the state we are in now..
The last 2 posters seem to grasp the gist of my argument. I was just pointing out that no matter how much jedi "try to be careful" there is no way for them to escape visibility if they want to play the "content" that is being developed for everyone to enjoy. I do feel bad for the post CU jedi who dont have the good sabers, i fortunately was jedi before the CU and have a very good saber. Nor do I fear the bounty hunters as they are nothing more than a myth to me. Not one has ever come after me and I do all i can to generate visibility.
Simply the jedi are not even a fraction of what we once were. We are gimped and nerfed excessivly. There is no real tangible reward anymore. True the only risk is loss of xp and that falls more into an inconvenience compared to the way it was. Personally, I think death should apply xp loss to everyone and not just us.
H
Anyone who chose to play a Jedi should have known better.
Stop crying the pre-CU/post-CU risk reward crap. Stop crying "After the CU all we have is risk and no reward... blah blah blah..." As a finished template, I have ZERO risk...none, zilch, nada. So what if a Combat Medic kills me. So what if I lose XP. I lose nothing. Stop drinking the carebear Kool-aid and act like a JEDI.
- Removal of XP loss due to BH death
- Removal of vis from npc's
- Incorporate any type of "safe" PvE mode
That is all
***This message has been brought to you by the " Hey new Jedi, why don't you grow a pair" council.***
As much as some of you like to flame me, cuz yes i have been pig headed to my view, i really understand both points of view. Here is a solution to appease both sides of the argument. Tell me what you think.
What if the rules of visibility were changed so that NPC city limits generate visibility as well as faction npc's. For example if you were standing in Mos Eisley or Theed showing off your Jediness then you would generate visibilty at an extremely high rate to the point that with in5 minutes of doing so, or perhaps even instantly, your name would be on the terminals. Simulating the fact that people living there my start to gossip or call you in. It would be easy to tell if you were in the NPC city limits because of the system message that is already in place.
Now faction NPC's that are found in the wild would also generate visibility but at a much less rate then in city limits. 15 minutes of showing off your Jediness, howeverwould result in full visibility and put your nameon the terminals. This would simulate the time it would take for an outpost to report you. And i would also say that Imp NPC's would also generate visibility at a slightly higher rate than rebel npc's as imp npc's have a directive that all jedi are enemies to the empire while rebels have no such directive at all.
This would also insure that most jedi would stay hidden out of the public eye. I would aslo say that wearing robes and lightsabers as well as your title should generate visibility in situations as ive described above. Then the argument really could be if you didnt want to be hunted stay off the terminals.
What do you think? Would this be a viable solution to this extremely contraversal problem?
