Thread: Why do stone swords outdamage lightsabers?

The Jedi who make asinine comparisons like these have a very myopic view of the combat system and aren't very good at PvP because they cannot understand how offense+defense+healing all make up the whole of the combatant. When you look at everything as a whole, Jedi are far superior to any non-Jedi template. It's the reason why every hardcore PvP'er pursues Jedi.
What I find odd is this post went completely over your head. I don't believe when people complain about melee templates they are complaining about a BH with an HLR. When was the last time you saw a BH with a Powerhammer?
btw, you are right a perfect saber can hit BH's in 8k recon for 700 damage. What I'll dispute is saying every Jedi with that perfect saber will hit for once a second while never missing. Are you seriously going to argue Jedi never miss? Can I ask do you ever use duelist stance? Do you know what that is?
Btw, I have MBH + MR. When you state a hit on a Jedi Defender will only be at the max of 300 tells me you yourself don't know the combat system. I can get my Accuracy over 700 for a limited time. Would it surprise you that I hit more than what you claim is the max damage you can do to a Defender? Yes my Rifle is very nice (645-1325) but it was so easy to get this now with the new BH loot it's laughable.
Just keep in mind people are saying a Powerhammer is hitting a Jedi for more in PvP. Defenders get hit for big damage with these nice Powerhammers that converted dam uber in the CURB. When you add the fact they can AB a Jedi and a Jedi does not have AB resists, that is exactly how a stone sword can outdamage a LS. But commence with the all knowing posts about how weak a BH is........46-4 record shows just how serious we can take that statement.
lets put it like this, i dueled a guild bh and with duelist stance up i missed every other hit, keep in mind i have 330 accuracy when i use my 1 hand saber which i was at the time.

The opening scene of Ep 3 was the JSF's in the space battle, to be precise.

And if you even read my post, I didn't say melee weapons have NO place in Star Wars. I just said that they are obviously archaic, obsolete, and not used in most of the movies, whereas lightsabers and guns that shoot lasers are a dime a dozen and we all know why.
Because all it takes to train someone shooting a gun is: A. Point, B. Pull trigger.
Training someone the art of combat using a melee weapon takes many years of apprentice/master training, much like lightsabers.

Pssst.. hey Maura.... there are PH that have 600-1000+ damage ranges. Guess what else... put that damage into a calculator and you see better damage than a 600-700 lightsaber with 200 elemental damage.
And pssst... guess what else. Jedi can't hit once per second because LS speed is bugged and so are speed modifiers.
And psssst.... guess what else: Jedi have lower accuracy than BH/Rifleman do.
And pssssst..... guess what else: Many many hardcore PvPers have now pursued the Rifle/CM or MBH/Rifle/CM4000 build because its vastly superior to Jedi.
And psssssst.... guess what else: When PvP comes down to speed and healing, and Jedi have broken speeds and their heals are worse than a 4000CM or Doc, they are hardly the best at PvP
Of course, you have a very narrow-minded view of PvP and wouldnt understand, prefering instead to believe the many-times-rescinded statement that Jedi are 1.5x a normal profession so you can declare yourself 'uber' when you beat them.

I don't know, but I am looking at what it would take to use this soul leacher sword on my Jedi, it's max damage is 900, for a CL50. And yes, it REALLY is a looted stone sword!
At least this spurred a bit of a discussion both light hearted and more serious. I would love to have one of the dev staff see this and go, "stone swords do more damage than lightsabers? wth?"
