Dear Mr. Blixtev,

I saw this post today.......

Why must it always be a conspiracy theory? It is as simple as I was working on BH/Jedi missions and ran a few NPC missions and went "Wow, these are lame, Why would anyone want to do these?" So I came into work over a weekend and made some new challenging Marks, created some new loot, and re-itemized.

It was as simple as something was lame, I thought I could make it better, andfixed it up in my freetime.

Not everyone is about the PvP game, and even those that are like a bit of respite from it every now and then. Plus withnice new loot on there, who wouldn't want to kill some Marks?

I had this great idea to install terminals at all the Jedi Force Shrines, the would give "Jedi Mark Missions" (not Jedi, but NPC bad guys). I know they would generate visibility, but that's NO PROBLEM. Then Jedi could actually go kill bad guys in the Galaxy!!! How cool is that??

So.....maybe sometime next weekend, if you're not too busy, you could usea little more of that freetime, and install some Jedi mission terminals that drop phat lewt too.

I'll be happy to send you a case or two of beer, heck, I'll even swing for a pizza or two, and I'm sure there are bunch of other Jedi that will chip in on the beer fund as well.

Anyway, of you're not to terribly busy, all us Jedi sure would appreciate it.

Hope you're doing well, and not TOO busy to thorw together this quick little bit of code I'm sure someone with your unbelievble talent could slap together in a day or so.

Thanks again for all the hard work you do, and just PM me with the delivery address for the beer and pizza.

Take care,

"A terminally bored Jedi"

P.S. That was my pwn little wordplay, i know, dumb, anyway, take it easy bro.

P.P.S. Don't forget to tel me what kind of beer you like too

regardless of all the previous posters, I think this idea is great. It would give me a reason to log in to do something other than stand around overt looking for pvp.

You really think blix care anything at all about Jedi? Maybe you should check this link....I know if I talked about my customers in this manner I would be fired.

What Blixtev Thinks of the Jedi In his own words

Basically what I get from that is if the boss tells him to make Jedi stronger, he can make them stronger. If the boss tells him to write a code that makes all Jedi perma Special Forces all the time with no way of changing status, he will do it. It's not up to him, it's up to whoever is calling the shots. While my opinion of the devs remains skewered somewhat, might I suggest you blame the "Puppet Master" and not the "puppets".

blixtev is a developer named thomas who works out of the texas office. he is not a coder.... he is a developer. developers make changes to the game by filling out request forms that describe the change they would like to see. this form is submitted to theprogramming department which is comprised of close to 100 computer programmers.

that's why the devs don't have answers for us most of the time. they can't read code. they have no idea how the game actually works. when they submit a request, the programming department says, "thanks, but since there are 67 other submitted forms ahead of this one it'll be a few months before we even get to this." premium pearls are not dropping because the developers do not feel that the issue is a high priority. the boss mobs for bounty hunters were new sothomas put the request in as a top priority to add loot for them so they wouldn't enter the game as another useless feature.

if you met thomas at a fan fest, you would know that players who play jedi disgust him. his pride is plain to see in the way he responds to questions from players. i have listened to him describe playing his bounty hunter toon with a big smile. if you ever meet tiggs you will also be in for a big reality check as to what her role is in all of this. she isbasically a paid correspondent. she's the person whogets stuck with "dealing with the players".

i suggested to blixtev thatroot would make more sense asa melee move for tankers who are supposed to control agro instead of a move that ranged players could use to avoid the need for melee tankers at all. his reaction clearly was "i'm not giving up root on my bounty hunter, no way".

I've met both of these people are I find most of your conclusions suspect.

And your first paragraph simply doesn't fit with my understanding of how the Austin studio works.

I want to clarify that in the conversations I had with Blixtev I never asked or cared what his thoughts were about Jedi or BH for that matter. I don't care today because he doesn't make those decisions anyway they are made by producers and not designers.

He and I also didn't agree on everything I took issue with several opinions he had on how the profession system is supposed to work. (My own opinion is that every profession should be whole and not worthless or nearly so without another profession to prop it up. )

I never once got any feeling from him that he didn't really love the game itself and wanted it to be the best it could be. I don't believe he has some secret agenda to ruin anyone's game play.

I certainly believe him when he says he doesn't make those kinds of decisions because my understanding is that kind of change comes from a lot higher in the organization than his desk and you should probably address those kinds of complaints to peple like Julio Torres and Grant McDaniel instead.
