They could make a two week period and a one million credits as requirments.

Well I am enjoying the game at my pace now, but If I don't try out some of the other professions, because of the time I would have to spend getting back to where I am now if I didn't like it or got tired of it. I just think there is no reason to have somone regrind a profession they have already mastered.

I agree with the timmer idea, but I don't see the point of making people regrind, it takes away from the enjoyment of the game.

ABUSE #2:

Log In (MBH MRIFLEMAN)

Hunt Krayts, gorax, kimos, etc...all day, collect tissues, pearls, crystals, dmg cells, etc.

Log Out.

Log In (repec to Marmorsmith, Mweaponsmith)

create your own rediculous weapons and armors, for yourself.

Thus removing the need for other player's vendors like Artisan's etc, who depend on their sales to make cash and stay in the game becuase they dont KNOW anything about being combat professions...etc.

Yes you could do that, and I don't see anything wrong with it.. I mean I could go hunt them now and give to a guy in my guild to make whatever weapon I wanted. What is the difference. Of course there are no pearls droping now.. but I see what you mean.

I mean if you grinded out Master Weapons Smith once.. why should you need to do it again.. I mean from what you said I could grind it buy uber resources, make a ton of crates of items and assemble them, and keep them in my house.. then grind to rifleman.. or whatever.. and then what? kill some stuff.. PvP PvE for months and months.. then get bored and grind CH then play that for a few months... then if I get bored regrind rifleman? why not just let people go back without the grind? I'm all for a timer or wait period, but don't see the big deal, just let's people play more grind less

Some old games like SWg are doing that but is just because they are trying hard to keep the old players.

Ok like many players I spend my day thinking about everything that is right and wrong with SWG and how to make it better.

We need professional help, I need it myself. I actually think about this stuff day and night, 24/7. Then the nerfs come, and things don't work and I get worked up, my blood pressure is bad. The hives I get.

But seriously, I think its great thinking of ideas to fix the game. But they don't listen to us, and just do want they want, makes a guy just want to give up.

Please read the post before you responed

They way we are talking about is that you would have to unlock a box in order to get it back. ie you could not use the XP points from one box to open another. So you COULD NOT Master Combat Medic then use that to unlock Doctor, you would have to grind Doctor to unlock it, but once you did you wouldn't have to re-grind it if you wanted to try something else.

Basically once a box was unlocked it would always be available for you allocate skill points to it.

Just curious to hear why you would want to Veto this?

I've heard some good points, do you have anything new to add?

Does anyone have anything new to add? I'm sure there are things that I have not thought of.

This would essentially turn SWG into a console 1player game, once you have learned a set of professions, you have access to that forever, therefore removing the challenge after the initial 3 months taken to grind out the profs...without a challenge there is no point to a game.

All the WS/AS/Architects would stop making stuff, the IG economy (which is fragile at best) would crumble into a non-existant void, the end-game would switch from Jedi to whoever has mastered most profs and the average lifespan of an account would fall because once you have seen everything a game has to offer...you look to newer pastures for your kicks.

Community would suffer as so many people joining and leaving in a short space of time, all players would just switch to the fotm template whenever they needed to and generally the game would turn into something that resembled anything but Star Wars (even less than now)

The reason that you have to regrind a prof is to give everyone a role to play in the galaxy, some people like to be the nasty BH, some like to be the famous local WS who makes great weapons, some like to be a Jedi trying to bring peace/destruction to the galaxy, others like to socialize and become dancers or musicians. The game is not perfect by any means but at least most roles are valid and required...if you let everyone do everything at any time....well....I'll leave the rest to the imagination

not a flame, just a general overview of whatI think would happen if this sort of system was introduced.

You also gotta think about the people during our respec period. I mastered every part of jedi so I could get any skills I want at any time. on my alt I mastered a whole bunch of professions and didnt work. plus jedi isnt supposed to be easy so this would just lead to more nerfs cause we can switch so much. and if your too lazy to spend 5 hrs switching your template on normal prof. It only takes that long in a normal profession really with a good spin group and and lvl 80.
