Don't know why my last post was blank, but yes you couldn't just unlock any box you wanted, by getting the xp back just saying once you've unlocked a box by grinding it you will always have that box available. I was not saying that you could re-use the xp to get free unlocks. ie if you grinded Master Rifleman you could not trade in those boxes and be a Master Pistoler. You would have to grind Master Pistoler, but once you did you would never have to re grind it.

Sorry if I was not clear before

On my main char i did almost every single combat prof in the game except pike brawler and smuggler(almost finished those but got to lazy when pub 10 was so close) and i've been a master of every jedi discipline except defender and healer. I could easily grind out every other combat prof i needed to have all of them in a month or two tops going slowly, under a month of grinding.

I knew exactly what you meant and my point was this: Grind out x number of uber and varied templates or every combat prof/crafting prof in the game and you become a 100% self sufficient character, with no weaknesses, no specielties. I grind every prof once and i can be anything in the game.

I see your point about people changeing their template for what they want and need, and that is exactly the point, to allow people to explore different aspects of the game. If your worried about the BH vs Jedi impact (which I think should be removed from this game) You could always put a limit such as one change per 24hr

What do you think about that?

Please only reply with serious comments

People already can do that, it's called regrinding your template.

The point of professions is to give people areas to focus on, if they'd wanted us to do what you entail they would have just removed sp all together or made one big all encompassing tree.

I've dabbled in just about every prof, i've explored the game as you say and i choose what i like best. And if i get a craving to do something i else i change my template by earning the skills again.

Also you have 8 characters, which means you can have up to 8 different templates for the same 15$ a month.

And if there was a time limit it would have to be more like once a month, at least and preferably more.

I don't support a new round of respecs.

14 days was just a theoretical timespan to emphasize that it would have to be extremely long to avoid players constantly switching profs every day or 2...

This could never be implemented without any exploits or community hate campaigns, Also I believe that it would be essentially a "god mode" button for us older players. I for one would be able to choose from so many profs that I would have an unfair advantage over someone who has only mastered maybe 4-5 profs and I believe that would unbalance the game 100x more than the current situation.

Wouldn't be long before toons with 20+ mastered profs were selling on Ebay for more than a fully temp Jedi who has only 2-3 profs.

sad but true

Self Sufficient yes, but not while you are playing that Character, for instance you couldn't buff yourself in game then drop Doc, you would have to log out. Or you couldn't log in as CH tame a pet then log in as MBH and use that pet in that game you could only use the pet if you had logged in as a CH

If you think about it the only thing that is changed is time, and grinding.. right now you could do this if you wanted to, but you would have to waste time to regrind the profession. I'm just suggesting that you only have to grind it once. I just think it would give you incentive to try other professions.

I don't really think a 14 day timer is necessary, but just curious why you think they should implement this?

*************** and yes I know it will never happen, but this is a discussion board ******************

I think this would encourage more players to try out other professions. I would love to try out creature handler for instance, but I'm not about to, because if I didn't enjoy it I would have to work another 2-3 weeks to get my current template back

create a new character then. I was gonna be mbh/mch on my alt didn't like ch (i mastered for 2 days then ditched it)enough and felt more like pvp geared combat, switch to mbh/carbines, droped mbh and carbines for commando/pistols and when i went up that i hated it and went right back to mbh/carbines.

People have plenty of encouragement to TRY the profesions out now, this is just saying that your to lazy to regrind your old one if you don't like the new one. And again, you do have up to 8 chars.

I'm not sure what you mean by unbalanced? once you log in with a profession that you have grinded, you wouldn't be able to use skills from another profession that you have unlocked. So if you logged in as a MBH/MCM for instance you would be just like every other MBH/MCM

Personally I don't care what this does to the value of a character on E-Bay I'm looking at it from the stand point that I think you would have more people trying out other professions instead of just grinding all day

Exactly I am lazy! this is a game.. not work.. I want to enjoy it not spend 80% of the time I'm in game grinding. If I unlock or master a profession I shouldn't have to work to master it again.

The whole point is people in this game spend 80% of the time grinding instead of actually having fun.

Actually you could buff yourself, log out, change templates and have doc buffs with your sweet template. Most of my buffs stick with me while i've logged out.

If i think about it it would ruin pvp and pve in the game as we know it, and isn't it bad enough? People would no longer pick their favorite profs and stick with it they would play with a Flavor of the MOMENT feel. This would be horribly abused by those who want to win in pvp, or the gcw and be loot whores in pve.

I KNOW what your suggestion is for the 80millionth time and i do not like it one bit. It gives a small incentive to try out different profesoin, not necessarily because it's what you'd like to focus in but because you might need or find a use for that skill down the line. My point is that people would be constantly flip flopping profesions to suit their needs for that day, that hour, that fight instead of settling in to their individual roles. That doesn't sound like a game breaker to you? The guy you just fought who was a mbh/cm suddenly comes back at you with his powerhamer out spamming swordsman and fencer moves on you doesn't sound at all like it would throw a wrench in the way the game works? Loot whoreing sky rocketing to an all time high, bases droping like flies in an already useless GCW? How can you not see what's wrong with this?

work? I coulda gone afk for a few hours and mastered cm but i only needed 4/0/0/0 on my alt. You call that work? I did go afk for carbineer and hadmaster in2 days(groups kept falling apart) plus -/4/4/4 bh.

I'm having plenty of fun, the problem is people like you who can't decide what they want to do and feel the need to change every other 5 minutes.

And like i said, it would be abused.

No need to get all personal, you don't know me..

you keep saying you know what I'm talking about, but what your saying tells me you don't.

Based on what I've sugested you could not log in as a doc buff yourself and then log back in buffed.

If someone I beat as a MBH/MCM one day wants wait for the 24hr timer and then come back and try it again as something else.. then great. Bring it on.

I'm not sure how you see this ruining PVP or PVE if I want to go get loot now, that I can't get with my current character alone. I just text some guildies and get a group to go get it.

I'm also not sure how this would result in bases dropping from the sky?? Please explain.

Thanks for your comments and ideas

well, rather than joining a spin group for some "grinding", get some friends together and go do some adventuring, quests, dungeons etc...there are plenty of lower lvl areas if you can't take the higher lvl areas. You would learn some of the game mechanics and get xp at the same time, what's with all the "have to get 10billion xpbefore tomorrow" in the past few months?. Enjoy the game at your own pace and don't skip the fun for the sake of keeping up with that guy you see standing round AR (aartan ridge--FarStar)going "LFG!!!1111!"

If you use the term "grind", it can and will feel like one...

edited to explain AR

I think a week would work as well, but I don't see the need to make it excessively long like 1 month or 3 months ect
