That's whyI give it a "7" while I gave Pre-CU a "1" and Post-CU a "5".

Star Wars fans have loathed it since day one. Most quit back in 2003-2004 due to the hollow grinding, lack of content and no star wars feel.

dont listen to them MsNil, just like when we were first posting to have this new system, which is great by the way. your going to get just that many flames for anything you say. the pvp leet jerry's kids of the world are naturally up in arms over this, and im sure they are going to be that way for quite some time to come.
i cant even begin to imagen the number of "back in the day" post that are going to follow CU 2.0. they are also hurt by the fact that they are now getting hit with some of the responces that they so loved to shout at us when we were posting how much we loathed the old system.
but now is the time for the true pvp/rpg player in THIS rpg game, and despite all the nea sayers, this game is going to really florish. and when it hits consols, the numbers are going to sky rocket and the folks flaming you now will be far and few and hopefully gone.
so i say we give them a taste of there own "you guys know what your getting into, dont like it, go play unreal !!!". its because of open pvp that all this drama started to begin with.
i just love looking back on my first post in these forums about how i said that open pvp doesnt work. uo tried it, eq tried it, he77, they all tried it. and in the end they all left it, cause it doesnt work, and now swg tried it and there leaving it. pvp players have alway been and always will be the minority.

BH player missions yes were removed
This new system is a teenagers dream for PVP.
They will get to wtfpwn old timers.

You didn't win anything. Whatever happens with this game happens completely independent from individual player suggestions. You're not that influential, sorry to say.

this post made so many things clear that i didnt relize before, why you hated this game among other things. This was not a first person shooter, the fun in pvp in RPG's is the focus on the character rather on the reflexes of the person behind the keyboard. I play swg to play an RPG, i have quake 3, UT, battlefield 2 and halo for the FPS type combat.
I just relized how much of a liability you are, and how you never should have bought this game.

I would like to ask you why, in your opinion, the NGE makes the game better.
You said you like to rp. Is the NGE good for rp? I don't think so, since now there are only 9 professions instead of 32. This means that the customization is no more.. I knew guys who love to rp and hate this.
Ah, about pvp.. How is this better for pvp? PvP isn't a matter of "real skills" now, because it just requires to aim at the target, which isn't really hard if you consider that, unlike in ALL the FPS games, you can't hide/strafe/jump (unless you think that the current jump will be useful in combat). It doesn't matter how good your aim is, you can hit your opponent on a hand or in the middle of the eyes, dmg is still the same. On the other hand, it isn't rpg style combat anymore: it is based on auto-attack, with a few redundant and, very often, pointless special attacks.
PvE (just in case you're a PvE type): the new AI is, frankly, disappointing. We just had an AI revamp that allowed npcs to use ALL the specials and made PvE quite challenging. Try the new high lvl quests on mustafar and let me know if the battles aren't challenging and fun, despite the huge flaws of the CU.
After the CU, it was necessary to use more than 1 special for both pve and pvp. That allowed, at least, to see some nice animations (but since there was no combat queue, we had to spend omst of the time looking at the stupid cooldown icons). I've seen a video from TC-Corbantis.. wow. Jedi walks to opponent, hit hit hit hit special hit hit hit hit hit heal.... disappointing. You keep on using the same default melee hit (90% of the time) with the same animations. That would be cool in an old 8 bit game, but in a PC game... heh, not really nice. At least before the CU, we used to spam dervish, which had a better animation.
The only thing I like is the fact that you can shoot non stop as a ranged char.. IF they put in game collision detection and allow us to shoot when nothing is targeted (cover fire and such), it might be more star warsy.. at the moment, it is just a basic concept, very poorly implemented.
