Thread: An idea on why jedi is slowly getting nerf after nerf after nerf

Another reason we continue to get nerfed is the devs ask us to grind at about 100k an hour, and yet there are still groups gaining 600k+ per hour WITHOUT inspiration buffs. As long as jedi continue to finish their templates in a week or less (which is insanely too fast) we jedi will continue to get nerfed. Some of these nerfs' sole purposes is going to be to slow down a padawan's grind and is going to hurt higher level jedi in pvp and/or pve. I heard so much complaining after the last xp nerf, I cant imagine what it will be like to listen to when it happens again. And even non-jedi can get a full temp within a few hours if they know what theyare doing. So really as long as we go against the what the DEVS want, we will be punished for it. Think of it like this..... Listen to Mommy and Daddy and get rewarded, instead of rebelling and getting grounded. Now lets all try to be nice little jedi boys and girls....

Jedi are getting nerf after nerf because they slowly want to make us into a normal profession. Problem is the way the profession is set up (skill allocation wise + forcebar) makes their goal impossible without a complete revamp. The fact they want us a normal profession but we still don't have armor certs, state heals, sub-par healing compared to theirs, ect... Of course the biggest is the 4th bar (force bar) we have to worry about which no non-Jedi has to worry.

Until Jedi see's a revamp, all of these nerfs hurt more than intended. Devs think they are balancing but forget being Jedi already has its drawbacks. What seems to be happening is they will nerf Jedi first and then fix it so we have the same benefits as a normal profession. Guess we just have to all put up with in the interm, play the alt, or play another game.

Ever thought that the current nerfs to Jedi are population control? I mean BHers are more powerful now than they ever have been really . Personally have a sneaky feeling that the Devs know exactly what they are doing. Think about it, we have asked many times for saber/power TEF's, penalties for those that parade around starports etc etc. Perhaps making BHers a true threat to Jedi finally we are getting a true deterrent. If this continues the way it has been over the last year or so, then Jedi would indeed have to start respecting Visibility and concentrating more on other Jedi. Personally i think this approach is the way to go.

I mean i see some people on these forums and ingame, that have choosen to become Jedi for one reason only. Basically to be baddest PvPer out there, this has been the case since day one. More so when were at the pinnacle of our power, its these people that give us our bad reputation with other professions. They care little for Visibility and gain it on purpose to get their PvP kicks, you can usually see them at Starports healing people who are not injured. I say let the Nerfs continue, i do not care anymore. The idiots will move on once they start to get beaten alot and perhaps then we can rebuild our tainted reputation.

So the only way i can concieve of jedi returning to its former glory is to start gating new jedi, make becoming a jedi so difficult that it takes a year plus to get to padawan and at least another 6 months of grinding to get to full temp, reinstute saber tef and permadeath to reduce the jedi numbers, as the jedi population decreases it willl make snse to give better powers to the jedi since the number of jedi will be smaller and jedi will be less influencial.

Permadeath won't be implemented. And it will especially not be implemented in a system where the player's main is the one that would be deleted. It "worked" in the old system because it was a player's alt.

OK so permadeath is a bit extreme, but i'm sure many jedi will admit tha reintroducing the saber tef would be a good thing for the game

Well, in this kinda situation a 3-part system needs be considered.

Trigger, process, and consequences. Permadeath, for example, is a consequence. Vis, is a trigger. BH attacks is a process. Saber TEF is both a trigger and a consequence.

Personally I think a "better" consequence would make all the difference, but that's just my opinion.
