Good tactics.

You seem to have a mind for this kind of thing. Can you help me with what to do when MBH/MCMs don't kite?

Honestly, all the ones I fight just stand there and tank me. They have their 8K energy and 75% armor break redcution armor, mind regen food, etc. and I waste my full Froce bar before I dent their mind.

I'm Mdef/ 0404 ls/ 4000 heal/ 2003enh (or something like that, I forget). And yes... my saber is weak with one pearl that is 68, -9 (other pearls and sunrider are solid).

I knock down, powerhit, then armor break, then head hit. I try to heal with stims when I can.

if all your doing is trying to get into an area where they can't kite. thats not always athe best, good armor with ab slice can sit there and tank it out with a jedi quite easily

my template is MLS defender 0040 healer 4100 enhancer 4404,i have a 710 max damage saber with speed and accuracy SEA's in my belt,im an experienced PvPer to say the least yet i still struggle with this type of BH,i beleive some templates are better geared to handle them and my FR2 although a nice escape tool in PvPis a hinderance in a fight with a BH/CM so heres whati do now when i get attacked by these templates, instead of loading up on food when im paralyzed to go at it with the BH,i load up on food and when the paralyze wears off i run away, not because i dont want to fight, but to lure them somewhere *i* want to fight

,theres lots of buildings in this game where the TEF doesnt apply, theed is full of them,so i run into one of these places and inevitably they follow me in and this is where things go in my favour, they're in closed quarters with me and if they want to hit me,they have to come within range of my saber,so they cant kite,if they try and kite me they get they system message "cant see target" so they have 2 choices, come close to me and get ripped apart or leave.

its amazing how different it is and how much easier it isfighting this kind of template in a square room than it is when you're trying to chase them down and use snare and root all the time,i was gonna keep this to myself but to be honest i feel bad for all the other people like me who struggled with these guys, hope this helps

Right on brotha. This has worked for me on nearly every mcm/mbh ive killed, for the 2 i have got killed by I played it their way and soon was shown by one of the best former bh in the game how to exactly win over these bh temps and others as well. This is where alot of jedi go wrong and why they lose, if you play their game, do the kiting and running after them, then you are as good as dead. For instance when i first fought one of these temps. i wasnt thinking in the moment of all the adrenaline rushing to my brain and kept turning force run 3 on and off-BIG MISTAKE- used up 200 force EACH time i did it, and was wondering why i ran out of force so fast, DUH, lol. Needless to say i lost to this fight. The next time i almost made the same mistake but i learned from it, I dumped it and used burst run WHEN NEEDED after a KD or rooted the bh or snared him. My temp used to mls, mas enhancer, hlr 4040 with no defender. Also another force cost issue as no defence but force armor 2 and your force is gone in no time. So the 2nd fight i had with this temp as i was saying, went better but i still lost. I made the terrible mistake of "flurrying" attackes constantly and used up mind and boom was down for the count. Learned from that one and its not happend again.

If you allow them to get the upper hand by making you chase them, you might as well just die or run off one of the two. Make these bh and any bh come to you, pick you a good spot with trees, rocks, hills, houses, etc. anything to mess up LOS, although i have noticed lately they have been SHOOTING thru buildings, which the devs need to fix this,i guess some poor family just loves sitting there and zip, there goes a blaster shot right thru the wall into the salad bowl and all over the floor!! Anyways, these bh are also very succeptable to Imp. Force Sap, hit them with it right off the bat, or you can wait until they throw all their little tricks on ya then they have maybe half mind or less and same with action, then hit em with it and its all they can do to stay alive is heal, once they've healed so many times due to damage you put on them, they have no mind or action left and its curtains for them.

Some know this and have learned to play around it, that is why you have to keep good watch on their stats along with yours too and hit em when they arent expecting it or when they are thinking they got you beat. It makes for a nice turn of events in middle of fight alot of times. Always keep an extra holo on ya just in case they sit and tank you out of force, which is crazy that they can do this but it happens, thanks SOE. Anyway, I was glad to see this post and that others are seeing the light on these temps and how to destroy them and force all bh to discard this temp and eventually it wil lbe obsolete sooner or later as too many will die with it. Keep up the good work fellow jedi, and for the bh who win their fights fairly, and are honorable opponents, i salute you for your valiant efforts, even the ones who win too.

wanna know what else is amazing?..seeing so many positive posts all on one thread on the jedi forums

/faints

lol..seriously though, its great that theres actually people posting positive tips here besides my own,too many people just say "learn your temp noob" or "i dont struggle with them, you must be doing something wrong" and thats about all they seem willing to add to any thread where someone asks for help with these guys, some people just dont seem to understand that if you dont have the right temp, these kinds of BH are a huge problem, not anymore though,we got em figured out

Right on man, i agree with ya, its very nice to see some actual communication with no drama involved, too many people out there for themselves and themselves alone. This is what i call te service to self type template, lol. If we all tried to help each other out instead of flaming each other because one guy hasnt played the game as long as the other, or one players isnt as good as another, its senseless to beat up on your brethren like that. Use these forums for good communitive talks and posts to help each other and i guarantee alot of the forum drama will disapate quickly.

well look at some peoples equipment before you say this type of thing.

people have about 6.5-7k energy resist armor all ADK'ed with AB Slice

a 685-damage cap rifle with 56 sac

Healing foods, rubys and stim's

as well as full buff's

with this equipment the most i will have to do is debuff you dont apply dots and then i can paralyze you wait till combats over then sit and regen all my mind and action if you decide to get clouse again i can just reparalyze you rinse and repeat. with out the use of dots CM is a total 1 on 1 controll'ed fighter. its like fighting someone with statis, now When ive beat your mind down enogth that im going to need you to heal as much as possible to die, then i add my dot's which when add'ed to my Rifle damage's will 9 times out of 10 finish you.

Well, i see your problem already bud, you dont have mls in your temp, i know alot of players may not like mls, or may like to use the sp on powers or other skills, but today, in the new SWG with all the nerfing thats been done to jedi, in my opinon MLS is a must, i mean you get more blocking, more damage, way more damage with mas box and speed too. All in all if you added mls to this temp youve got, and add improved force sap-which by the way with the new action mind cost being lowered somewhat in patch 24, (go to jedi forums and baciacca has a post on the figures on this to be exact) imp force sap will be even better as now its does tend to use a decent amount of mind when used and not always does it stick, also use your improved force shock to and apply all states youve got, another benefit of MLS, onehanded tree gives you bleed and blind, along with stun and dizzy their accuracy will be thrown off and if stun worked like its intended it would add to the action mind regen affect of sap too, as from what im told stun is supposed to stop action regen completely, if not just a little. Also, heres a little combo i like to use time to time, when they are rooted, snared, stasised or kd, do armor break, imp. head hit, imp. leg hit, imp. body hit, KD, then powerhit right after u hit kd this will give better chance of it actually hittin when they are kd'ed. Alot of people dont realize the power in MLS and also people dont use the body hit or leg hit much at all from what ive seen, these are 3 of the most powerful attacks in ls besides dervish and powerhit. I try to follow up with dervish right behind powerhit as this is deadly combo and can be changed up to your liking. Instead of using force heal on your first heal or 2 of the fight, try using stims with ruby nstead as this will save on your mind and action also. Just pace yourself and wait for when he makes the mistake of lettin action or mind get too low, apply sap and let the good times roll. I hope this helps ya out somewhat and wish ya good luck in ya future bh fights.

Body hit/Leg hit are definitely under-used. The timers compliment eachother so you can chain them and for the most part they are better to use as the 'common' attack. Powerhit is nice, but with the timer and the KD/Lagslide often you will not get anything. CM foods are also under-used, you can do some nice denting to their mind if they have to try several times to land fire/poison, etc. and the foods also seem to mitigate some of that damage. Lots of good advice in this thread - it's nice to see some constructive posts.

On topic, does the heal states from the healer tree cure CM debuffs? Cause I was considering changing my template if it does.

a few notes:

-try armor break once or twice if it does not work - stop trying - it just eats force and you not anymore likely the 3rd time around to break their armor then the 1st two times

- (as stated in a previous post) everyone (including jedi) have ranged attack- if you are a defender pull out a gun (pistol if you are indoors, rifle or carb outside depending on range and sac costs) and use that attack if your force pool needs to regen a bit.Youwill miss more but with a good gun your attacks that hit will be doing similar damage to them due to the high defences you have (they will be doing min and so will you.)

no idea if melee attack works the same way with a saber? Can you swing the saber with melee attack? then it would just be no action cost + your base force cost if it does work?
