Introduction
How BHs Find You
Before they even take your mission they will check to see if you are online. They will either add you to their friends list or just use /findfriend yourname to see if you are online (it won't give them a waypoint unless you have them in your friends list but they can tell if you are online or not).
With this in mind, use it to YOUR advantage. I cant count the number of times i have seen someone "casually browsing" the vendor tents in my city, people i have never seen or know is a bounty hunter. Since many will put you on their friends list to know when you are on line, all you have to do to check that is to put them on your friends list.
If you are on their list, and now they are on your list, you do a /findfriend and it will either say unable to locate xxx, which means you are NOT on their friends list, and if you ARE on their friends list, you are given THEIR waypoint. Since chances are you dont know this person, you know he is after you, now you taunt him, lol.
The best part, is if you get ganked, when you kill the first BH and the second runs off, you can track him with this method. Sit back, take a shuttle to whereever he is going and meet him there for a little "talk" ![]()
Keep in mind though, just because you are not on thier friends list does not mean they dont have your mission. Many of the better BH are aware of this technique and will remove you from their list when they verify you are on line.
Camrux wrote:Great guide with the exception of these 2 things. My personal opinion is the first one is an exploit, houses were not designed to be portable shield barriers. This will get nerfed somehow eventually and if all of the clowns doing this are not careful we may lose the protective sanctity of our houses to a nerf.
The speeder while not an exploit is bush league, and I'm sure that this will get nerfed too somehow. Again possible to the point that nobody will be allowed to mount speeders if attacked then where will all of us be?
Personally there have been very few times where I would have been able to make it to a house put down next to a mission. Even though I watch the overhead map and radar, many BHs just come in fast with guns blazing. Even then with the radius around a lair, I would have a ways to run to make it to the house, giving the BH more time. Personally, I hate this tactic too and refuse to use it for myself. But until it is actually listed as an exploit I see no problem in listing it as an option in this guide. Besides, those who would use this tactic already know about it so I'm not letting the cat out of the bag.
As for speeders, I refuse to use that tactic because I'm too vulerable and have a better chance just staying and fighting. If I'm losing that bad where I need to get away, chances are I will be dead before the speeder gets out of range. And as somone else posted it's a'la Qui Gon Jin in Ep. 1 when he escapes from Darth Maul. Again I leave this one up to the devs as they could have easily made the BH TEF also work for speeders, thus with a BH TEF you can not enter a house or use a speeder.

I can see this backfiring too quickly myself, but it is a good tactic if you wish to play with the BH, lol. Also, I previously heard of a bug where even when you removed someone from your friends list they can still use findfriend on you sucessfully, has this been fixed?

Interesting guide.
As a BH myself I never take payoffs. A Jedi once offered to pay me off so I wouldn't kill his friend. He stalled me until the friend had a chance to get away and then laughed and I didn't get paid. I just stalked his friend and killed him anyway. But now I don't accept payoffs to avoid Jedi trying to scam me.
The part about having a speeder out is not a good idea. I disable them in1-2shots. And if you get on the speeder I'll KD you and then kill the speeder. I've never had a mark be able to escape successfully on his own speeder.
The portable house is a good idea... if you can get to it. Usually I can get close enough to you before you can run into the house. I'll root you and kill you before you can run in. Jedi usually don't see me coming until they are on their back looking up at me. But if you can escape to your hidey hole more power to you
A Jedi's best defense against a BH is simply not get yourself on the terminals. Unfortunately that means not grouping which means slower experience gainand powergamers hate that. But with great rewards come great risk.
Never try to get on a speeder, I try not to kill the speeder, but sometimes it happens. If a Jedi makes a break for his speeder, we just target speeder, pop it once, then the jedi goes flying off - simple. Also, if you are in a group we can tell which speeder is your before we even attack, it cons yellow to us, so we know right where you are running to.
I also don't mind the moblie home trick, if they get to the house before I can root/kd/snare/kill - good for them.
but watch out, some of us have found a cleaver trick around the mobile home.
jedi knight / mbh
So what tips are out there for Hybrid characters like myself: Jedi/BH.
Heh Heh Heh...![]()
Hunting Jedi ..../cloaked
better than typing dump, make a macro that just has /dump in it, then bind it someplace on your keyboard =)
Iv got mine on ctrl+N, its so much better than typing dump..
Good tips!
Problem with switching back to original Pane. I typed in macro juat as it was listed, but it still hasn't switched back to the Pane 00. I didn't put a ; at the end. I saw Crazy posted a similiar problem. I will look some more. I also had three slots, however I don't actually have anything in them as of yet, could that be the problem?
