Pre-CU Jedi.... It seems you have an issue...here's your tissue.

Don't YOU even get tired of your whining? It seems that many of you have a very selective memory. Of course, Jedi was hard to unlock and grind, but if you want the rest of SWG believe that ALL of you discovered Jedi as individuals without any hints, tips, holocrons, help from friends and forums, etc. you're lying. This "we were as pure as the driven snow" crap is absolutely sickening.

The ONLY difference between Pre-Jedi grind and Post-Jedi grind is that you ground it out earlier. To pretend that you didn't take advantage and use EVERY means availableto grind Jedi out as fast as possible is ridiculous. Are you saying that if SOE offered double XP back then that you would NOT have played and evenpetitioned SOE to stop double XPor you would cancel your account? What was fight club for then? It's your lie...you stick with it.

Get real, you hate it because all of your previous groupies are gone. They now have Jedi characters and no longer "bathe" in your uberness. That the class has been nerfed is true, but why? Because YOU Pre-CU Jedi didn't know how to act. You talk about "Let's curb the Jedi profession population" (so long as it isn't your Jedi) It was YOU guys/gals that started the showboating at the starports. It was you guys that abused the powers that SOE gave the Jedi and caused many of the nerfs we have today. It was you farming all of the pearls causing the Devs to take another look at the drops that are now gone.

So get your heads out of your fourth point of contact and realize that YOUR generation of Jedi is responsible for many of the lingering affects that we have today. Lastly, just because you bought the game, prof grinded, and made it to fight club before others bestows no special (and shouldn't)rights to you.

Your time would be much better spent getting over yourselves, than whining about the "good old days" when you walked barefoot to the Jedi academy uphill both ways in 6 feet of snow with no shoes. I for one have no sympathy for you.

You are sadly mistaken. Although we did become jedi before you, that does NOT mean what you did and what we did was equivalent.

  • Compare your force sensitive village grind to the 32 professions I grinded over a period of 9 months and you will wonder how the hell I (and many others)did it in that short amount of time. And I still pvp'd, socialized and enjoyed the game.

  • Once I finally unlocked it took forever to grind, in solitude. As a new padie it took3 weeks, 6hrs a day to get one branch completed in the LS tree.2 week of 6hrs+ a day for each additional branch. This is all considering you survive bh deaths. I averaged a bh every hour I grinded. There was no "staying off the terminals". Upon a bh death another would come within an hour or two.

  • My full grind was completed without armor.

  • The lowest FC saber I had at novice was 14fc. and 26fc on my 4th gen saber.

i could go on about "in my day..." but I think you are getting the idea. There are MANY great post-cu jedi out there. Many who deal with all the obstacles and rise to the challenge w/o whining. But you are wrong in your analysis of pre-cu jedi. We had it just as tough or possibly worse then many of you.

i think the post-cu jedi have more to complain about than pre-cu. at least you the pre-cu have experienced the AWE that WAS jedi. now us post -cu get nothing more than the crap left over of a once glorious profession.... i would love it if saber tef was turned back on along with the origional jedi rules... hell if they reset the games mechanics to pub 1 I would love it.... i think anyone that has a problem with it is stupid and has made the CU what it is today.....

my vote: keep the characters the way they are now and change the game mechanics back to pub 1. not like they haven't made this kind of change before *cough* Combat Upgrade *cough*

What many don't realize that the early days you couldnt go out and master Swordsman in 3 hours. We didn't have good armor, or decent weapons. XP was split amungst the group which meant you had to solo everythign to get max XP. One of my holo's was BH. Try doing BH back then. Missions were so bugged, if your mission was on rori you just dropped it. Many times the NPc woudln't even spawn at all. There wasn't a bazillion bases to slice and Player bounties were shut off for the longest. You couldn't XP investigation.

You really really have it easy by not having saber TEF. I tank for new paddies and they all crack me up. They flip out over a toon approaching. DOT!! they scream. Then they all look to see if its a BH ornot. Saber TEF meant everyone was a BH. Everyone attacked you. Jedi were so new, to attack one was the kool thing to do. If you killed the guy he brought 18 friends and a ranger to come find you. Each time you died, creature or player it was xp loss.

So to break it down

Creature death = XP loss

player death = XP loss

BH death = XP loss

any player who sees you in combat can openly attack

you had no spin groups.

Holo grind was pure luck and you had no idea of when if ever you would unlock. Unlike now, you can almost plan it to the week.

Holo grind was specific skills not general XP. Go grind ID, BE, BH, and SL then come cry.

Back then you kept your Jedi's name secret. Your other character wasn't called an alt..it was your Main. " who is your Main" was the expression, now its who's your alt.

Lots has changed, some better some worse.

The sufferning CU paddies take is that they dont have good pearls. That doesn't equal out the pains of the past. You dont need a good pearl to get XP in a spin group. Any Jedi with 2002 enhancer can get away from a BH. They have gimped jedi to the point its attainable by all the cry babies. There are a few of you that do not fit the mold and you know who you are.

The recent posts on this forum since pub 24 have made me sic. I do not want you to quit. I need all of you younglings to play when the FRS comes around.

I should make the page less biased i guess and more knowlege based. My opinion that post CU jedi need to shush wont change. Roll with it like your Masters did. Crying brings disgrace to us all. We are naturally superior because we are Jedi. when you have no skill your attitude and wit is all you do have. Loose it and whats left?

I would like saber tef back, so I could grind with my whole gank squad without fearing anything.

Really nice forums, even though i was not worried about becoming a jedi at that time i still remember how good and honorable they were. I fear those days are long gone and this game will never be the same.

Did you ever stop to think that some of us "younglings" WANTED to experience the hardships? Some of us got SCREWED by Pub 9 and were forever thrown into the loop of stupid meaningless quests that prolonged their journey by a year and made them end up finally reaching their goal of jedihood in the age of weakness and pestilence? We had no chance to enjoy the age of the jedi, when jedi was once a great thing.

I agree with this guy. I would have loved to unlock when there was perma-death. That would have been fun and challenging. Most of all, it would have no affect on my main character. Unfortuantely for me, I didn't make it in time and had to finish through the village.
