Isnt the buessiness world fun. As a coperate slug like SOE is its very easy for them to ruin peoples fun and enjoyment

I cant believe the way these people on the forums buy into every rumor, and cry about it. I love how every jedi thinks that any new player is going to be 12, and that they are in everyway superior to every new player. Did you ever think maybe... just maybe... the new players arent all 7?You guys are funny, I assume most of you are 6 by the way you act, but if you are infact older then that,I encourage you to take a step back from the computer, and look from a 3rd person point of view exactly how you are acting... ridiculous

SOE needs to make profit.
They made a game (SWG) and earned lots of money from the 1st wave of costumers.
Some of them obtained the Jedi status as reward. Large part of the community was happy, but someone was whining of course.
Then the big masses started to complain how hard was to get to Jedi.
This way SOE realized that in the long term they would have lost costumers keeping "Jedi" a very difficult goal.
They started to make it easier to get Jedi with the introduction of the Aurillia Village, more people decided to remain and try to grind insane amounts of xp to get their Jedi. It was easier than hologrinding, SOE profit was again ok.
However, Aurillia screwed the game for many : because of the 24/7 devotion to the village the 90% of the player base (those that did not have their jedi yet) started to pass his game-life in this village, making the game unplayable for many of us........How many times have you received a tell like "help me with aurillia quest" ; "help me kill Siths" ; "help me kill mellichae"....etc etc.
Jedi was an obsession and costumers that didnt have the intention to become one started to get bored and leave.
SOE realized this and decided to take a big decision:
the decision was to make the jedi available for all, but needed to be implemented step by step because of the hard-boiled vet community.
Steps:
1-Combat Upgrade, new system.....many old veterans that loved the SWG interface canceled ; Newcomers could not complain cause they did not know how it used to be.
2-Bounty Hunter: NPC missions gives the BH loot and 30k payout, Jedi missions gives 50k payout but no loot and the BH cant see the name of the jedi he is hunting.....so whats the incentive?...........Newbie Jedi are happy they are no more ganked/heavily hunted.............new BH are happy, they get the loot they deserve---------Another small part of veterans leave.
3-Premiums/Flawless pearls and FRS are taken out of the game ; The jedi are weaker now. The vets that did not get a perfect lightsaber back in the days get the shaft....and many cancel.
4-Jedi grind is super easy, even my 11years brother have a jedi today. 5k per kill, counting the NO-BH menace granted from the Bounty Hunter missions *revamp* means full temp jedi in 1 month....moreover having fun with your group mates.
Veteran players who made jedi the old way(1k per kill, solo grind, high possibilty to be hunted AND ganked AND corpse camped)feel INSULTED........many cancel; Newcomers are heppy, the jedi is easy to grind so no pain for them!!
NOw the servers are on Very Light population and its the time for SOE final move: replenish their server with a wave of BRAND NEW COSTUMERS.....how this will be implemented?
SWG Starter Kit is the answer : Jedi as a starting profession, thousand of kids that get their fluffy hands on a 1337 glowstick.....servers again with anHEAVY POPULATION ready to buy the expansions in order to get an even more glowy Crystal, unaware of what SWG used to be.
Moreover, no more need to break the EULA and sell jedi account, now everyone can be a jedi with 14.99 a month.
More power to Sony, they are brilliant as usual in market strategies.
