The old system was better in that you were fighting individual enemies. Nowadays, your fight experience gets determined by 2 factors of your enemy:
- melee / ranged
- CL
A CL 82 Krayt is nothing different to fight than a CL 82 Squill.
This makes combat dull, and I have yet to find anything that we got in return for getting more dull combat.
SOE is trying to somewhat improve this by introducing elite and boss marks, which only means more HAM and higher regen - nothing different really. A CL 82 boss is probably about the same challenge as a CL 87 without the damage penalty you would get for actually fighting CL 87.
Hopefully combat will get more exciting when mobs use mob-specific attacks as SOE is planning to do, when actually Nightsister will use Force attacks and you have to fight them differently than you would fight maybe Canyon Corsairs.

They are mssing 2 things:- Monster Attributes
- Monster A.I. (they are working on that one right now).Look at the new monster attributes that is currently wielded by Creature Handlers:http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=creature_handler&message.id=244032Once they have started to use that system for pve, it will be very different and much better, level or not.For example, a Level 80 rancor may have "Thick Skin" and "Vigorous Health", making them tougher than all other Level 80 monsters, while a Spider may have "Intimidating Attack" and "Staggering Attack" instead, creating a different kind of monster with less health but nasty attacks.I believe pve is going to be far more interesting with the new A.I Changes brewing.
Yes, that is what my last paragraph was about, I like those changes also. But we already had all this pre-CU, so we wouldnt need a CU to get it.

there are many things in pre cu that was really unbalance and so do CU have and many broke things aswell but that we had pre cu aswell.
what they should do instead of whole CU . they should not make a all new system instead just change a few things like legendary wepons + buffs ans a little more mayby . ans put all the effort in fix the buggs instead we had pre cu.
but one thing i love with CU is jedi is stronger + we dont have kd+dizzy or any other exploited stuff

i dont think legendary weapons were the problem, after all they were rare and weren't something every second person had. DOTs on the other hand where WAY too overpowered.
