Destiny is not a matter of chance but of choice. Not something to wish for but to attain.
Take great care in what you say. Each time you speak, its an opportunity to see the real you.

i politely asked all flames to be kept of this thread, you wouldnt like it if i called you a PvE cake eating care bear would you?,of course not,but if you come into my town and kill my NPCs under my nose without any recourse for that action then thats exactly what you are, this is supposed to be a war,and if i walked up to an imperial and screamed in his face "im a rebel" i would fully expect to be stabbed in the throat for it,it hasnothing to do with PvP snobbery, its simply enjoying an element of realism that in my eyes didnt need changed

Well, actually it did need to be changed, because the stuff wasn't just in "your town." It was in any city where (as was the case on my server) any noobcovert rebel risked exposure by a stormtrooper, followed by instant death at the hands of Imperial-player gank squads who lived for such moments, especially in cities like Kaadara. Of course, the gankers justified their aggressiveness by saying, "Well, if you're a Rebel, you need to be in hiding..." which rings about as sincerely as the contrition of Mr. Toad after his wild ride.

And then, of course, there were the noobs coming into their faction's respective theme parks (both the Emperor's Retreat and the Rebel bases on Corellia and Dantooine) TEF'd and wounded, with the occasional overt opposite-faction player lying in ambush near the entrance waiting to pick off an easy target and blow their bikes.

All to say, TEFs hardly need to be restored "to save the game." For crying out loud, TEFs were eliminated to save the game.

lol.. come on!!!,TEFs were fun didnt you ever enjoy running out of theed cloner unbuffed and wounded and charging someones swoop just for a laugh?knowing full well someone was gonna one shot you, thats the aspect i miss of the TEF system more than anything, because it was harmless fun, sadly though alll the other stuff you said was correct, people did do stuff like that but the way i look at it people will find a way to ruin anything in this game no matter what it is,before the TEF system was removed i never once questioned it,even when i was being killed every 10 minutes by a group of dark jedi out at the imp reb spawn when i was grinding my melee stacker template, during that time my PvP rating fell from around 1400 to around 700,and as frustrating as it was i accepted it as a consequence of me being caught with my pants down and making it obvious that i was a rebel

Well, I was never one for clone-rushing, but I do grasp your point. And I will agree with you, the TEF system was fun, once you learned what to expect with it. Shoot, I remember doing my Bounty Hunter grind out of Kaadara (where the Stormtroopers were particularly efficient, especially during the "Imperial Crackdown") and having my covert Rebel status blown on a fairly regular basis. And yes, I did find myself playing the mouse to an unknown number of Imperial "cats" from time to time, trying to figure out how to sneak in to visit a Rebel recruiter in, say, Moenia, to request a return to Covert status and then get back out without being ambushed.

Heh... just gave myself a trip down Memory Lane....

But I just really hated things like having my ride shot out from under me as a griefing tactic -- particularly when I was at the stage where I considered myself rich because I'd managed to accumulate a whopping 60,000 credits, a laser rifle, a FWG-5 pistol, and was sporting a suit of Mabari armorweave.

But you notice my qualifier, "Once you learned what to expect with it," didn't you? Nothing killsmore new players' involvement with a MMORPG than a disastrous PvP encounter early in his virtual toon's life. SWG is one of those games that, being built upon a widely-recognized and popular franchise, has the ability to bring in people who have never experienced massively-multiplayer online gaming before. Back in the spring of 2004, I was one of those people. And yes, I had my share of unpleasant PvP encounters early in my toon's life, ranging from what I'd described earlier, to an encounter with a virtual flasher dressed in a gunman's duster (while going incognito with his 'novice brawler' label up when he was really a TKM/melee stacker) and looking for noobs to goad into duels.

But yes, I have gotten involved in the GCW. And yes, I have racked up my share of impressive kills, as well as ignominious deaths, though I make it a point to not brag about it or post names in my bio.

I don't have a perfect answer to your dilemmas. Yeah, it can be a drag to watch a bunch of opposite-faction Combatants creating mayhem in your backyard bases with nothing you can do to stop it. But there is an answer for that, and it's similar to the refrain people used to chant when Coverts were being exposed: If you don't like it, don't build the bases... just like people saying, "If you don't like it, don't go Covert." Idunno. I suppose the game will continue to evolve, and maybe someone will come up with the perfect solution. To me, it's just a bit much to say, "Bring back the TEF system and save the game."

Especially when you'd get a TEF infront of those afk looters, then when they attack you, you just wipe the floor with them. LOL, miss those days.

even with those changes you listed soe has screwed over the jedi so much the relationship that was before the cu will never get repaired. your list in no way is out of line or asking for anything we didnt have before but some will say it is too much and trying to create an I win button situation. but, when you try to save a few dollars in programming this is what happens, you pis$ people off. and very loyal people at that. If soe rolled back to pre cu nobody would trust them. nobody trust them now because of the out right lies and incompetance they show in every single patch they produce. quality control at soe is the equivilant of a malaysian sweat shop's.
