Thread: Pearl's and Crystals Fix Sugestion
You would have to cap it at a certain number. For example 6000 or so.
Not all completed templates have the same amount of force. Just because somebody has 6950 force at full temp, and someone has 6050 at full temp should not give the 6950 person anymore ability to tune a crystal.
I think this would be based too much on the template you choose and make template more important than shoosing skills and knowing how to use them.
I would like to see a system where the ratings had minimum values and thus the odds of tuning better on them were much better. For Example:
TypeDamage RangeForce RangeDamage OddsForce Odds
Flawless80 to 120-6.5 to -9.941 to 135 to 1
Premium65 to 120-5.3 to -9.956 to 147 to 1
Select50 to 120-4.0 to -9.971 to 160 to 1
Quality35 to 120-2.8 to -9.986 to 172 to 1
Good20 to 120-1.5 to -9.9101 to 185 to 1
Fair5 to 120-0.0 to -9.9116 to 1100 to 1
In this system you are gauranteed a certain tune from a certain rating, and the odds of it tuning to perfect are better as you go up, because they are simply less chances to tune to crap. All have possibility of hitting cap though.

I feel Pearls/Crystals shouldnt even have a fair/poor/quailty/premium/select/quality raiting on them... Base the Tune factor on how much force you have at the time of the tune.
If in regualr professions you are lvl 54 you need a lvl 54 qualifying gun to use.
Why not base this in the same way. The more force you have = the most training you have receved = the more knowledge of the force you have= the better chance of you tuneing better pearls or crystals .

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't this go against exactly what the devs said......this would certainly make Jedi more powerful globally. I mean it's easy to get full template, your idea means the hardest part to get a good saber is the grind to full template which again, everyone agrees is not the hardest thing atm.

I don't think it should be based on the amount of force at all. I think LS tuning should be included under LS crafting. I don't believe that someone that is not MLS should be as good as a MLS at crafting a saber and tuning the components for that saber (crystals and pearls). Someone that is a MLS should have the advantage of creating a significantly better saber than somone with only 2 branches in the LS tree.
I would like to see them take the experimentation lines from LS crafting (efficiency, damage, speed). They could then maybe start the crystals off at different levels, so that an MLS with +10 experimentation points might be able to get a fair crystal to 80 dmg, -5 fc, good crystal to +100dmg, -7 fc and in order to get a 120/-9fc, you'd have to either be a 12 pt MLS or use a minimum of a premium crystal/pearl. Meanwhile, dabblers (only xxx4 LS) would still have 7 experimentation points (9 if they use a LS suit), so would still be able to get get the 120/-9 if they use a LS crafting suit AND get higher quality crystals/pearls, whereas a MLS would only need one or the other to craft the same saber (either premium crystals/pearls or a 12 pt LS crafting suit).
