By taking away the pearls / crystals from Pre-CU, they are taking away something that older Jedi put an incredible amount of time and money into. No where near what is required now, granted, but still a sizable chunk of cash and time.

This would be equivalent to getting rid of all the uber Pre-CU resources so that damage capped weapons can't be made for BHs.

I for one would permanetly leave the game at that point, unless a very favorable solution were provided.

I see your point, veterans should be rewarded, but something had to be done about the old perls or the perl drops.. a old time Jedi has 4x +120 dmg .029spd -9fc in their saber, a post cu jedi have 4 perls that average +80dmg -0.2spd and -6fc..

Now with the 4 perls thats a dmg difference of 160 pr hit, now thats a big deal... not to mention lower force drain and faster attacks. Now since BH vs Jedi its supposed to be 1 vs 1 this has resulted in Jedi getting nerfed as the BHs arnt able to kill the old jedi with great sabers, however the new jedi arn't able to do enough dmg to drain a BH/CMs mind before the jedi runs out of force....

When grouping with Jedi I have seen so many jedi fight for 15 minutes then die due to no force, the Bhs mind bars never got under 75%.. I've been trying to tell these guys during the fight that they can't win, but few would listen...So they died. What amused me was they all kept answering me "Im fine, im not hurt" and so on...

If the old super perls are removed I guess jedi could get a denerf

I agree with the Devs, if anything it will stop these Pre-CU babies from crying about how Leet and "special" they are. Nerf em all so it's an even playing field, there's enough crying by the Nub post-CU Jedis about BH, at least this will even out the Jedi community and eliminate the Leet Pre-CU babies. /cheer DEVs.

Oh I certainly don't agree at all that they should convert us. Just pointing out the SOE track record to the incredulous, and the fact that Jedi have been lucky enough to be spared so far. For what it is worth, every single weapon I owned from pistols to rifles to power hammers have converted to either noob weapons or crap. There was one exception, and that was an old rifleman grind weapon that was an insanley fast laser rifle ( 2-3 spd ). That converted to the slightly better than normal laser rifle.

Kinda like all those pre-cu uber dot weapons, uber posions, uber krayt and geo weapons ... etc ....etc

Hate to say it, but SOE has a track record in this department, and they are pushing for gold in the "not care" division. Basically Jedi were the only veteren players to NOT GET SCREWED with the cu conversion.

On a whole not in the slightest. Talk to some of the people that had insaneweaponsthat converted to less than craftable or loot items. While there may have been some instances here and there for bad pearl conversions, for the most part every single pre-cu jedi I have talked to had their pearls come out well. If that wasn't the case, then we would not have 18 bazillion posts on this topic, including this very thread. I don't really see all those pistoleers and rifleman complaining about pre-cu weapons.

Some of my guns that got converted are way better now than they ever were pre-cu, I haven't heard of one case where a poearl/crystal was converted to be better. I ain't disagreeing with you tho that a lot of nice weapons got the shaft, as I had a fair few that became paperweights over night.

But it wasn't all roses for the Jedi either

yea ... I am not saying that at all. I am simply saying on a whole, most weapons other than sabers converted to significantly less than what they were before. Most of it had to do with re-classifying weapons and their level certs. Think about all the nice dxr-6 rifles or the scyth blades or gaffies or jawa ion rifles that are now like level 30-50 weapons. I had an uber dxr-6 that cost millions that I would not even grind with now. Pre-cu I could out damage groups with it.

For the most part, most weapons got straight screwed, you were only lucky if you had maybe a t21 or a PH or some other weapon that retained its cert level.

I don't think I have heard of one saber that went to a level 30 and dropped to 200 DPS.

Yeap I definately got the shaft on that, as a few weeks or months before the CU I came into some money so I thought I would gather a few nice weapons that I couldn't afford before and yeah these consisted of 4 dxr-6's a fair few scythes and a couple of others, but on the same note I did manage to get a few nice conversions out of it from some incredibly pants guns so it was a kinda balanced situation (don't worry there is some logic behind this), not many sabers were completely screwed, but at the same time none were made better, on the other side a lot of guns and melee weapons were killed but some were made so much better.

Kinda makes sense if you read it standing on your head while squinting

we are on the same page, and should both just cross our fingers and hope the devs have something better to do. Maybe I should just go over to the smuggler or commando forums and start inciting them on a revamp again.

Considering the amount of players I know who have contributed to the GCW from he beginning or are veterans of broken Professions that they managed to make work and win with, I have to call your BS on this post. No-one owes you anything you holo-grinding, selfish nub. I did the hol-grind myself and I unlocked but I am not here saying I "deserve" leet pearls. Get some tissue for your issue, no-one is feeling you on that argument, nerf the pearls even the playing field!
