First off I would like to state the the sayings of Buddah have nothing to do with the path of my SWG experiance. Buddah was a fat prophet that told everyone else not to eat too much. The posting regulations state that you sholud leave out political and religious views. But just like Buddah you probably have a slick answer for everything.

Secondly, Garvas post and the limited, stuffy and arrogant reply to my PM has tp do with most of the reason I have cancelled.

If you were to go to the dealer ship and get an oil change, and they did not fill the car with oil, what would you say when they told you to step out side and cool off. That $5000 hunk of smoking metal formely refered to as you engine is nothing to be concerned about. Don't say anything rude and hurt the guy's feelings that forgot to do his job, or get security called on you.

Pull into a full servce station and the guy fills up your sports car with diesel. Don't be rude, it is your fault for having a sports car instead of a John Deere in the first place.

I have spent many years in the automotive service industry, dealing with customers face to face. I have taken a hit to the jaw, had my own hammer thrown at me, been stabbed with an ink pin, my wife and family threatened, had castration with a rusty spoon threatened to me, and taken a 2 hour lecture of a customer screaming at me until his voice quit working. You know what all these incidences came from? Finger prints on the glass. There were more, believe me. I have gotten letters from lawyers threatening to take my house from an engine rebuild that didn't last any longer than 50,000 miles, forget the fact that the customer never changed the oil in that engine.

Now, Garva wants to tell us that we should setp back and calm down? You are looking at a computer screen Mr. Williams. That is not threatening. Sure some customers are acting childish, but how childish is it to tell us that we shouldn't be up set? You are very thin skinned.

That was the single most inflaming thing an SOE employee could have written in a similar situation. The number of replies to it substantiate my claim.

Personally I would have said something more like, "My, you melee guys are veyr upset with the latest revision, and with good cause. I understand that you are now at a terrible disadvantage in PvP against a ranged profession, and that it seemd terribly swayed in the opposite direction at this time. (here is where I have to speculate, because I have not heard one iota of reasoning from SOE) Here are some suggestions that may help improve your gameplay. Try finding a chef to make you some Rancor Aid to counter act Electrolyte Drain. (which has the acronym of ED, I hope it is purley coincidence that it coinsides with a medical condition) I can also suggest working on your technique with avoiding the snare. With teh time constraints, and the pressure from management, the developers did not get to test this issure to the extent needed, and therefore we need some time and some analysis to help smooth it out. Please bear with us,we are indeed thinking of you, our customers, and we want to make you happy."

But, I figure my keystrokes are in vain, as this will be deleted or locked. I hope Garva's managers get to see it though.

This without a doubt is the best advice I've seen anyone on these forums tell anyone. After reading these posts I honestly imagine people storming around their houses throwing things and moping around town for days on end because of a game. If you get so angry by changes in a "GASP" game. A world that only exists on a computer somewhere. A place that has no bearing on your life. A place that at some point in time will come to an end.... Then my friend, you seriously need to cancel your account and sit down and think about whats important in life. Because I can tell you, this game means a hill of beans in our lifes. We're born, we live and one day we die. And the sad part of this whole thing is, once it's over its over. No blue glowies, no cloning centers. Just the end. And my friends you need to live for the now and realize that life is more than this game.

Regards,

and when you get so angry that changes to your "GASP" car, you get pissed the hel off and you scream at the guy without phyishcal interaction, that "GASP" a police man takes your car and distroys it (banneds it) for you yelling at the guy that screwed up a piece of your life.

-Note- im no way saying that this game is my life although it does infact have a bearing on my life. I.E i have to work to pay for the account, therefore taking time away from my wife/girlfriend for as you put it "just a game"

First on Buddha,

Buddha is not fat actually. The fat Buddha that everyone matches with the name isnt actually Buddha himself. That is a representation of a Chinese Buddhist. "It is possible that the fat belly is symbolic shorthand for the Chinese idiom that is used to express someone who is exceedingly tolerant -- has a "big stomach."

Second,

You're example is far off base. Me myself I teach college students and man trust me, first year freshmen and about to graduate seniors are probably just as bad. Under stress to graduate, under stress to perform, under stress to goto social events, under stress to participate in extra curricular activies. And you know what? If I tell them not to cheat, and they get angry at me when I catch them? He didn't rebuild an engine, he didn't leave smudges on a windshield. He came in and told us the rules after people started complaining that posts were removed, and we get angry because of that?

He wasn't responding to the post itself. He was responding to the amount of nonsensical, deletable threads that people just remade to get deleted, so they could say wah wah look they deleted my post.

If I was Garva and responding to the post i'd said:

Hey guys, I know you're upset. However, making these posts that are going to get deleted is doing no good. If you are seriously this angry about a game I suggest you step back from your computer, take a second and come up with some good suggestions on what could and why it should be changed. Just ranting on and on in posts that are going to get deleted/locked is not going to help.

And you know what, I'd been flame. And you know what, your reply would have been flame. If he came in here and said sorry guys I feel your pain, he'd be flamed. No matter what he said, he would have been flamed.

In the sky, there is no distinction of east and west; people create distinctions out of their own minds and then beleive them to be true. -Buddha

Nothing in this GAME is going to change my car. Nothing that happens here is going to make me scream at some guy, no policeman is going to storm my parking lot and take my car, let alone destroy it. This game has no real bearing on my life. Sure I often play to much, and put off other things to play it I was just mentioning the obvious, when Garva posted that if were angry about a game that we should take a step back and breathe.
