Azino you are correct, however in all those games never has "one" group been singled out of all the others to be at the receiving end of all the negatives of a faction war like in swg. every single profession in this game has the opption to not only join a faction or not, but at what lvl that want to partice in that faction, sept jedi. jedi is the "only" one that is forced to accept a playstyle brought on by someone else, and then at a certain point in there profession forced to have to make a choice on sides to play for, all the while also being the only one to having any kind of penalties to there profession.

no other proffesion in this game has penalties to it, no matter what lvl you choose to play in the GCW. you could play a bounty hunter in the gcw and go overt and die a hundread times over and other than a poor pvp rating and possible bad armor have no negative affects to ruin your skill progression in the game.

this is going to be a thorn in the whole communities side till its removed, its just common since.

Jedi should not be all about PvP and should be made uber.. knight should be CL100 with master being 100+ like NPC DJM's are.

Sorry but a Jedi that is on the same level as a Ranger, Swordsman, Pistoleer, ect is not a Jedi..

that is were your wrong Erasmass, its cause of the over powering that we find ourselfs were we are. the abuse of the power we have is why we are being forced to play a certain way in the game. if we had the same grind we do now, sept be just as powerful as the rest of the proffesions in the game, not only would there not be so many jedi in the game, but we would finaly have our choice in the game on how we would like to play our toon.

but if it wasnt for the fact that pvp is such a part of the profession currently then we wouldnt need to worry about the temptation to abuse power.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

Please tell me what is wrong with a lot of Jedi being in the game?

I'm sorry but this is Star Wars and I haven't talked to the people at galop, but I'm guessing 80% of the people bought this game because they wanted to see or be a Jedi

Exactly the PvP element is what causes the problem.

just wondering why after a year and half of jedi being in game this is all of a sudden a major issue? what did i miss here? why are all these post showing up more frequently than jedi ruined gcw post..and all of a sudden too. what the hell happened?

i think it has always been the underlying issue.

yes..i realize that..but whats up with it now..why the sudden onslaught of them? in my own experience most people i know start off feeling that jedi shouldnt have to pvp...cause of the simple truth that losing xp sux. but as they gain level and eventually finish their template they realize it was part of the experience and could learn from it and teach others what they learned .and most came to accept it..sort of a right to passage kinda thing. so it was never a HUGE issue with getting it completely removed..it was more of a get it fixed. its just odd that theres so many posts like this all of a sudden.

Because all the people that that have either played some sort of combat profession for awhile and never really participated in pvp are now unlocking and people that played a crafting/entertainer profession for the most part are unlocking. These people have never had any interest in pvp and now that they have unlocked, even though they knew before unlocking that jedi would involove pvp, they want a system that everyone else has learned to live with and sometimes even enjoy changed for them. Kind of like someone coming to live in your country but expecting you to change your ways for them. They are the "carebear" or mature non-pvp types.

And your right, there was NEVER a huge call for the removal of player bounties like there is now. Its a new breed of of jedi. Many of the older jedi accpet the system as is and in fact would like it to be made even harder. Its so much more easy being a jedi these days. These people would have quit if they had to deal with the way it was. I wish there was a non-pvp server so we could stick them all there and not have tolisten to them complain about this.
