I did alot of testing when the Cu 1st came out. I tried all combos of defender and IMHO def 444x is just as good a tank
as a MDEF. Valor is nice but the added melee defence from the 44xx lines and thearmor you get out way the valor bonus.
Again this is just MHO.

I have been a Full templated jedi Knight for a long time now. I can tell you some things that right now we can't really defeat. That is a CM/BH that really knows how to use the template and added with that, his 75 percent armorbreak reduction, then the food that helps him. So if this CM/Bh really knows how to use his template, has the equipments, and the food, then no full templated jedi knight can defeat those those guys. Only the most elite Jedi Knight that is hardcore gamers could prolly pull it off. I have duked it out with these guys before and I have defeated some of them only because I was a pre-pub 9 jedi and played since then.
There was only one instance that there was this uber BH named Darkgun' on my server and he came after me. First he applied all the stats on me after paralyzing me. I got the normal treatment from a CM and then he proceeded to break my root and then applied those action reduction shiat and so on. I was slow as hell, even though I was an MLS. So I had to run after duking it out with him for the first 5 minute and realized that I did it wrong. He was on my ass constantly and I couldn't regenerate my force at all because he was on my arse and I couldn't get rid of the Tef. So I ran to a lake and regen'ed my force very slowly while he sent me hate tells and such.
Then I tried to duke it out with him again and this time I carefully planned my moves and watched what he did and tried to kd him at the right time when his actions was down and then armorbreak him right before the kd but the problem is that his suit prevents my armorbreak to work at its full potential. So I had to run again and log out of the lake.
That is why I'm going to get 0400 Powers to get cloak and Mindblast. They say taht mindblast goes a long ways in helping a fight against those kind of BH. As well, I have always watned to try out the Cloak.

Sounds like you're temp works well for you, just had a quick question on how you play it. For maximum protection you'd have Force Aura, Force Armor, Force Valor, and Force Infusion all running simultaneously. That combined with a 27fc saber i'm wondering if you have any problems running out of force? Also, with Defender xx44 you're not getting alot of the Innate Jedi armor nor ranged defense, and maybe that's why the initial first hits on you are hard, since i'm assuming you don't keep all your defenses up 24/7.
btw, my temp is very similar MLS, Def 444x, Enh 3xx2, Healer 4xxx.
