Thread: 220 Melee Accuracy vs 900 Melee Defense

I guess you ment that Pikatta Pie gives 50% not 150% (+50) as 150% would have +150 mod...?

What would be really nice is if the devs would come out and tell us what all this stuff did. A post from tiggs saying "here is the formula for pilkatta pie" and "here is what aura really does" would be totally sweet!
well, they dont know is my guess!
This is how I view the topic here:
Force Aura does give +500 melee and +500 ranged defense. That is fact based on the icon of the special and about 50% drop in damage done when activated in PvE tells me it gives both melee&ranged.
Vegaparsine DOES work now. If you notice when you take it CURRENTLY it adds directly to your Melee Defense in the stats sheet. If it didn't add directly to the stats I might not believe it works.
Pikatta Pie, now this is a mystry. I'm truely miffed if this actually works or not. It does not add to your stats sheet HOWEVER neither does Aura. The way it worked pre-CURB is it gave a % bump from your base defenses. Meaning a Master Defender with 200+ base ranged/melee defense would see an increase of 50% (100 extra).
So with that in mind a Master defender could have something like:
20 - From FS skills, 235 - From MD, 500 - Force Aura, 115 - Pikatta Pie, 100 Vegaparsine (don't forget +100 ranged def from drink), +25 - Bio Wear (reports that it doesn't work but honestly with it being so low we'll never know lol) for a grand total of around 1000 Melee/Ranged defenses.
Now to counter the 1000 defenses, I believe the best template to defend against this is the following:
Non-Jedi IMO is MBH/MR - +50 Accuracy mods, +250 base Accuracy, +220 Accuracy drink (Pyro I believe), +240 Accuracy from Aim (skill located in Rifleman) for a grand total of about 750 accuracy. Yes the Aim skill works for only 10 seconds at a time BUT it is the best way and possibly only way to get your accuracy to the level to compete with someone with crazy defenses.
Now as far as a Jedi template to compete with this, you'll find it very hard. You can get around 220 Accuracy from MLS I believe, +220 Melee Accuracy from food (just like the pyro) and +50 in SEA's. Unfortunately we have no accuracy buff so we will have to rely on food that only lasts a min and has a filling of about 15. So I guess the best accuracy you can sustain for a limited time as a Jedi will be around 500. Just keep in mind the main objective high defenses will do is make your damage scale down to it's minium value, this does not affect Jedi really at all. So while we still might miss like a mofo at least our damage will be relatively unchanged.
Pre CU pikatta gave (approximately depending on food stats) 50% dodge bonus, which meant that 50% of incoming attacks you would be able to dodge. This was a must have food when I started the jedi grind. Post CU it seems to have been screwed up (along with the rest of the game), and now makes a couple of points difference to the damage taken.

Actually no it didn't. That is the screw up from the devs, they confuse people when stating it's a "dodge" skill when infact it was not. All it did was increase your melee/ranged defenses, period. If you looked at the combat log pre-CURB all you will see is an increase in "misses", that means your defenses were higher.
The Dodge skillwas a pistoleer and fencer skill and this food did not grant that mod. What it did was increase your base defenses. That's why a pre-CURB Jedi grinding from novice SAbers it was such an important food as it have a huge bonus to your current defenses. As a MTK with Fencer (pre-CURB) using p.pie I was missed 3 out 4 times by everything in PvE (when grinding)
Vegaparsine DOES work now. If you notice when you take it CURRENTLY it adds directly to your Melee Defense in the stats sheet. If it didn't add directly to the stats I might not believe it works.

don't forget that just because it shows on a character sheet doesn't mean you get it. BE clothes show on it past the cap of +25. And yes I do think it would give us a list of all modifies and thier effects. but I doubt we'll ever get it.
