Don't get too excited. If you do a search on amazon for Knight of the Old Republic 2, you get the EXACT same game description. I thought something sounded familiar.

Theres a mmorpg called Neocron 2 out there..

Funny part is.. It really isnt Neocron 2.. Its just neocron.. They made an expansion, and "re-released" it as Neocron 2...

Same game, same graphics, same content, same everything.. Except the expansion..

It was dropping in sales, and they therefore decided to release it as neocron 2.. Just a marketing bluff.. But it seemed to work..

I have a feeling this is what they are trying to do with SWG.

Change some stuff, market it as SWG 2 - The experience continues... And make huge sales... And repeat their mistakes again.. rince and repeat...

Nice obsersation. Wording is exactly the same, and the "sequel to the award-winning role-playing game" part really ruins it, knowing SWG has only has expansions.

I think the "Star Wars Galaxies: Starter Kit" product may be real, but I don't think it's what the description says on Amazon.

It's not an addition or expansion to this game I don't think. Sounds more like a single player game where you can play offline. Probably can load your character file into the game and play as your SWG character in that single player story setting.

It say on the box photo "Game experience may change during online play" The Wookie translation means "same game, different box." I find hard to believe that a MAJOR change to the entire game could happen and no one even has the slightest hint that it is coming. The darkside clouds everything...it is difficult to see.

I think SOE is doing the same thing that Ultima Online did. UO sells an "Advanced Character" which is a character that has some skills already so you don't have to grind. Sounds to me like you can buy a character that has skills up to cl 30 (Maybe you can fill the skill tree up to the master boxof the basic professions?) Instead of selling a fully templated character on E-Bay, they're selling a half-template character retail.

Someone should buy that and then tell us what it is. I would do it, but I don't wanna waste my money.

I think George Lucas is now getting ready to pull the plug form SOE.

Lucas Arts cureently has servers which can support this game with over 200 Game Developers recently employeed in Lucas Arts. That is why SOE has no comment they have no clue what is going on Lucas Arts side now.

i just ordered it. i'll let you know the deal. i couldn't stand the curiosity anymore.

here is my guess though: you can build any char you want ... play the crap out of it ... then opt to build a char in SWG (n00b of course) and grind away like we have. It's probably Lucas's answer to the horrible job he's seen done by SOE.

Can you imagine telling Lucas ... "George, we know that you envisioned Jedi being VERY powerful beings ... but our BH community really doesn't like that they can't beat them ... and truthfully, we were running out of content ideas. So we figured hey, what a great idea for dynamic content ... let's allow the BHs to get a Jedi as a mission and beat them up .... yes yes yes George, we know that this was never actually witnessed in your vision of Jedi ... but we thought we'd take some liberties."

If you read the fine print on the cover, it says "Internet conenction required"... I'll leave you all to decide whether this bad or good. If this is a fix from Lucas Arts, then it's more than welcomed. If its a joke, then its pretty funny.
