I was thinking about something today....it was set off by someone asking why everyone was complaining in this forum. So I began wondering why everyone was so bitter....

I am a full-temp jedi. About the only thing I do is PvP... I grind sometimes when other padawans need assistance. I help withquests when needed, etc but for the most part, I pvp with my fellow rebels.

The only thing I can ever really complain about is when the IMPS gather a gank to completely slaughter us... nothing about MY jedi in particular is game-breaking.

I got irritated over the cool-down exploit but not enough to be enraged by it.. I get irritated when I have to fight a BH b/c he heals more than me; still nothing to enrage me.... i always compliment them on their healing ability.

I thought the snare canceling of FR was stupid but I got over it...it has yet to get me killed...

So I wonder...what makes me different? I have a nice pre-cu saber...its around 693 max, 9FC, 95SAC but i knwo PLENTY of jedi who pvp with 500-600 damage sabers and do fine..

So what gives? Why is everyone so unhappy?

What is your template? is it MLS based? MDEF?

the reality is that many other Jedi Master skills have been significantly NERF'd. MPowers has lost 3 primary skills since it came out, because they felt it imbalanced ... Master Healer (as you noted) now has but one tactic ... change templates. The reason your probably not unhappy, is because you have a template that the Dev's are driving us to, vs. one that we selected based on the skill set. I've Mastered 3 of the Jedi disciplines so far, and have gotten atleast 2 branches completed in the other disciplines, and i'm tired of having to regrind my template just because a BH gets a beat down, or can't kill me because when looking like a loss i Cloak or FR3 away.

the frustration on these boards in many respects are the frustrations that other professions like CH, Carbineer, Smuggler, Tailor, CM have expressed in the past when their Mastery boxes turn into junk.

My first Profession was Master Carbineer ... it was so gimped that i re-trained into something else. You just can't do that all the time with Jedi ... it takes way to long to get the Master Box. That is why people are frustrated ... if you work your butt off to geta full template Jedi, only to find out that 2 weeks or 2 months later they are changing that COOL sounding skill to something that doesn't even work.

I mean cmon, with CU they gave us all respecs ... reason: they significantly changed the way all professions fight. that happens with Jedi everytime they change one of the fundamental skills that makes us a Master of the profession.

I am a MLS / ME / healer 3000 / def 0020

Used to be a MLS / enh 3404 / def 2040 / healer 3000

Tried out Mdef when CU hit and hated it as i found it boring.

I also understand the issues that plague some of our skills; i'm not blind to that... it just seems that there is so many better ways to address it then coming to the jedi forums and complaining day in a and day out ... people excel and succeed with any jedi template ... this forum should be here to share the knowledge, not complaing about it

Saber damage.

MBH/CMBH

SLBH/MBH

Nerfs on nerfs on nerfs

Skills being made useless in PVE making questing annoying

Loot being torn to bits

ditto

Not happy about some of the things they are doing to Jedi and the obvious bias they have toward a certain other profession. but all in all i dont have many problems. nothing game breaking

I just wanna know why...

I can understand a legacy Master Healer being a little peeved but if i was a MH, i would have re-grinded my temp 3 months ago...

Does it come down to sabers? I know that a lot of new jedi cannot obtain a 700+ dmg saber but i sometimes use my 500 dmg saber and still do ok..

On of my buds started with a 500 pt saber and is now around 700....all with parts obtained post-cu

Funny. I'm MHealer and I beat the bloody piss out of just about everybody and everything.

Well for starters... If you were MSaber/MHealer 4004Enh Pre-CU you were pretty strong template.

Currently that template is nowhere near possible. So in my case I shifted to MDef/MHealr 0404Saber after the CU.It was astep down in capability immediately following the CU, but the healing capability made it fun.

PRECU MS/MH/4004E was arguably the best template for Jedi. Currently, it's arguably the worst template for Jedi. I 100% disagree, however, that's my .02/choice.

The reason it's the strongest template now is easily justified with one skill. TotalHeal. You have no idea how many times I've had people complain to me I'm too strong because I healed my whole health bar in one shot.

Quick Edit - I've killed 2 - 3 people/Jedi/etc solo on more then one occaision. It's fun to hear the claims of exploits right after.

At the end of the day, i just have fun with my jedi.

Been a jedi for the best part of a year, ive only had to run from 2bhs(and one of those time's was due to re-grinding).

The other guy is well known on our server as one of the best bhs, but someone told me he splashed out about 200mil for all his gear, so really you would expect him to kill jedi really.

My alt is a bh, so i see both side's of the tale, it is suprising the diffrence between alot of jedi.

Pre-cu jedi can be a nuisance, but some run and drop easy, and now the cooldown timer's are fixed (were they wrong?) , hardly a jedi i can't take.(hehe my bh budget was about 2mil lol).

All in all though, i think it's best to just enjoy playing, and not try nit picking through the game, yeah we know SOE aren't perfect, but in honesty i mostly still enjoy playing SWG
