Wow. This never ends does it? I have known that Jedi is a PVP class since about halfway through the village phases. I dont really like it but thats the game right. I tend to play my alts more then my jedi but hey thats why we have them. I am not a pvp person never really was after the CU hit. I do support giving Jedi a term to pull missions to hunt BH's just like they hunt us. I think that if the tables were turned a little it would add content for jedi and give the BH's a taste of there own medicine.

I have been following this game and have been a community member since before anything was designed. Jedi wasn’t designed as a PVP profession, they were designed as a reward class similar to most professions in all respects, save the initial total skillpoint buy-in.

The PVP aspect of Jedi came when player bounties were added, well after Jedi were.

Nothing about being a Jedi takes away the players ability to do whatever they please with their playtime, as long as its not against the rules, Including avoiding PVP at all costs.

Wow.

If Jedi wasn't a PvP profession, then why did all the orginal Jedi recieve an ingamee-mail telling them that it was?

/scratcheshead

You know, the part about it being a dangerous time for Jedi, and that they WILL be hunted?

If you think that the Jedi was not orginally designed as a PvP based profession, what was it, a crafting profession?

Get real, check your facts, and grow some grey matter.

I've forgotten more about this game than you'll ever know Jr.

I'm just stating my opinion. That no one has to do anything they dont want to in this game. If a Jedi doesnt want to PVP they have the option to run from every BH, never go into the FRS, and never go Overt/SF.

Oh really?

Just for the record, (and I hate the territorial pissing contests), I played in Beta for months beofre launch, unlocked two Jedi in the old system mastering a total 58 proffesions (some twice), so....I doubt you ever knew enough more than me, to even be able to forget half as much, and would throw down against you on SWG Jeoapardy topics any day of the week..

Nice cheap shot though cheesewhiz, but you missed the bagel entirely.

Correction, there is ONE PvP profession....

It's been that way since day one.

This is why jedi is in the state that its in.Once everyone has one guess what? we will all be only 1x stronger than everyone else except for the noobs that will be working on getting a jedi. This is star wars and most players will want to become jedi. When a brand new player happens to cross my path guess what the first question they ask me is? Bet you can guess "how do i become a jedi?" or "what badges do i need to become a jedi" It has nothing to do with people asking for changes in the profession it has everything to do with people wanting to be a jedi because this game carries the name of STAR WARS. And as the population continues to increase and increase as youve seen happening then there will be no point at all to have any content in this game what so ever because the way the current system is, we would all just be pvping all the time non-stop every where. Add moreopportunitiesforpvp and it would only be worse. Might as well just make each planet an open battle field with no npc's where we can just have it out with each other all day. It would get pretty boring pretty quick. There ends up being no stroy line, no plot, nothing to keep peoples focus when there is nothing to do but pvp. It will turn this game into a twisted star wars version of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat online. Thats why pvp should just be a little added bonus to this game for those that want to compete. it should never be the main focus of any aspect of this game.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

Ok Einstien, we were talking about the fact that when Jedi was designed initially, THEY WERE PERMA OVERT.

The only thing that could stop them from being perma-overt, was NEVER USING A SABER OR ANY FORCE POWER.

If that wasn't designed to be full on PvP, what was it?

Go check your facts, and come back and talk to me, when you know what you're talking about it.

Pffftt.
